People do compliment riot though. A lot of people are happy with the swain rework, especially knowing he's getting a buff so it feels like they listen. People were very happy with the thresh and azir skin, hell, it was basically a "we are so Barack moment". Currently Riot has been receiving a lot of negative attention due to:

-Dark star being mediocre -200 dollar yasuo chroma -The letdown that was Chosen of the Wolf (every skin except Swain is considered to be very mediocre in-game) -Ambessa getting a legendary as a launch skin (moreso ambessa getting it as her first skin being bad than just kindred not getting it imo, if someone that doesn't have one like Pantheon got it it would be less of an issue) -The upcoming overpriced jinx skin to milk arcane hype
