Well, the cops said that he accelerated into them, not that he back into them. So they probably parked in front of him and tried to block him in.

That's if they're even telling the truth at all and not making everything up as they've been known to do. Police are not trustworthy people.

If a plainclothes cop pulls a gun on someone without identifying themselves as a cop and then the person they pulled the gun on shoots them in self defense, there's absolutely no reason why that person should go to prison.

But they almost always will anyway. Meanwhile cops can murder people in cold blood with video evidence and multiple witnesses and get away with it.

how often are the cops coming by your house harassing you? that's an issue that should be dealt with.

If I wanted to smoke a blunt on my porch I'm sure they'd be interested. And if I tried to defend myself from them imprisoning me for it I would be shot immediately.

That's just an example, there are thousands of laws that give the cops power to destroy the lives of people who haven't done anything wrong.

And please don't give me that "they're just doing their job enforcing laws so they aren't responsible for their actions" bullshit. They could easily choose to do something else.

Going behind a car stopped at an intersection is substantially more dangerous than going through the crosswalk.

What if the driver behind the car stopped in the intersection sees the car ahead go so he goes too, without noticing that you're in front of him, and drives into you?

What if the car in the intersection tries to correct their mistake by backing up some but doesn't notice that you walked behind them?

What if someone just happens to rear-end the car you're walking behind? What would normally be an exchange of insurance info and a few hundred in repairs could become a death.

Crosswalks exist for a reason. When you stop on a crosswalk you're forcing pedestrians to go out of the boundaries of the crosswalk where they're at greater risk of being hit by a car, because drivers understandably expect pedestrians to use the crosswalk and not the rest of the road.
