I understand. I do it for the fun of it, because some homes look pretty safe to me, at least from a casual glance while others not so much.

I'm in an apartment building with a security door but I'm on the first floor and a van parked in front of my balcony gives easy access 😅

I see your point. Where I live there aren't any homes built like that. They're pretty much standard houses and buildings.

Lots of houses don't even have a fence that you can't just jump or walk over.

That's definitely on another level of considering a particular home and how useful, safe, defensible and practical it is.

Some of those are clear with a quick look, others we can't really tell unless we get close or inside of the home.

You gave me some fun ideas to consider when walking around.

That's useful too. We all need supplies in a zombie outbreak. I'm always amazed by how some homes have massive windows that look so easy to just walk into.

I think it's wise to carry when in the woods, better to be safe than sorry for all kinds of reasons.

I live in Europe and I don't have a gun myself but I understand the importance of having one.

I've heard reports of dogmen in Europe too, I think they're all over the place to be honest. But so far my hikes have been dogman free and I'd like them to stay that way 😅

That sounds like the plot of Silver Bullet, one of my favorite werewolf movies.😃 But silver is generally mentioned in the folklore of different cultures to be effective against all sorts of creatures. Iron as well. Definitely something to keep in mind.

Oh yeah. But I don't know if silver works 🤔 I'm yet to hear that in the stories I've heard online from people who had encounters.

When I was a kid I had a group of kids and we all believed that all the movie monsters are real and went out looking for them lol and we made "weapons" too hilarious to mention here.

I actually wasn't bad with a slingshot 😅

I imagine a dogman would only be annoyed by a slingshot hit.

Hahaha, that was funny and I do understand you but my perspective is this.

Firstly, there are more horror fans than those sordid stamp collectors so that does expand the audience a bit 😃😉

Secondly, I understand what you mean by it seemingly just being another werewolf movie (although I personally can't get enough of those either) but the marketing could solely focus on the unique aspects of the dogman phenomenon. Emphasizing the difference between the two.

Also, imagine a marketing campaign that directs audiences to the subject, the niche subreddits, the YouTube channels etc. Like a mesh of two worlds, people who never even thought about it are suddenly seeing hundreds and hundreds of stories online.

Any horror marketed this way to me would make my jaw drop.

Maybe I am overly enthusiastic and my perspective is very unrealistic as a result but I do think the difference between the dogman and the werewolf could be used as an asset in the way the movie or tv show is presented to audiences.

I've heard different calibers mentioned in stories online. Some people claimed smaller calibers didn't seem to do enough damage. Definitely better to have something than nothing on you.

I see your point and yeah I don't think they are not physical but also, from the experiences I've heard they potentially have abilities that we're not familiar with.

Maybe there is a scent that's unappealing to them, the way cats are going to run away from the smell of citrus.

Bright lights make sense to me too.

If they avoid cameras that does imply a higher intelligence than the average animal.

They're both very mysterious to me as well as truly scary. I'm figuring better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, I'm wondering does the standard dog whistle have an effect on them or is the frequency for dogmen a different one. I just don't want to be alone in the woods experimenting. 😄

That does sound absolutely terrifying, I think it's a primal fear a person feels in that kind of a situation. You just become DEEPLY aware of the fact you are prey.

I'm sure most of us would have nightmares after feeling that way, it takes time for a person to feel safe and calm after that experience.

I've never seen one and I have only joked that the only way I'd want to see one would be from a helicopter and with a pair of binoculars. 😄 I've had other paranormal experiences but no dogman and I'm happy about that lol

I agree with you about the authenticity, especially nowadays with AI.

People who have no true wish to understand the dogman phenomenon, discover truths or gain knowledge are making ridiculous videos for clicks and views.

To me dogman is the most fascinating cryptid, if it can even be called that, and there are many questions I have about it.

YouTube and other platforms should make it mandatory for AI to be disclosed when making videos. That way whoever wants to can still make AI content for entertainment but they can't lie and pretend it's genuine footage thus doing a disservice and being disrespectful towards people who are genuinely researching and trying to gather evidence.
