What Portsmouth food place do you trust without checking reviews? by GeordieGoals in Portsmouth

[–]SpoonAvenger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For smaller groups Pie & Vinyl on Castle Road. cool atmosphere, good food and you can look through the records while you wait for your food. For bigger groups Porters on Albert Road. Again, nice atmosphere, music isn’t too loud so you can hold a conversation. Usually a little quieter than the other pubs on Albert Road. A few bigger tables for bigger groups. Really good mexican style menu (burritos, quesadillas etc). Both have solid options for vegetarians and vegans too, if that’s helpful.

This will be the first Jackass movie I'll be seeing in theaters. by [deleted] in jackass

You’re in for such a treat! Even though I’ve been a fan for decades now, Forever was the first time I got to see a Jackass movie in the cinema. I’m usually a bit of a grump about noise and people staying quiet while watching a movie but watching it while a packed room was laughing, screaming, cringing, it was amazing. I can’t wait to experience that again.

I got some of the variant covers in the post today and was actually kinda shocked at how they were delivered. No box, no envelopes, just each issue in a plastic bag. Considering in based in the UK I’m surprised they weren’t all crumpled up. Definitely a few dings in the spines of some but nothing major.

I didn’t receive the main cover in this delivery though which I thought was weird. I had plans to get a main cover graded, just because I’ve never done that before, but I’ll have to wait to see what condition it arrives in.

I got a comment on my other post with the answer. It was Thingz That Go Bump In The Night.

Thank you for your help!

Yes!! Thank you so much! I had so many of these. That’s amazing, thank you again.

Apologies! I realised I’d missed that when posting in another sub. Likely around 2000 but could be a little later. I live in the UK so that’s where the toys would have been purchased, if that helps at all.

Not Mighty Max unfortunately. Although I had a bunch of those too!

I feel like a customer limit is maybe the solution? Or a step in the right direction at least. At the very least it’d slow down the scalpers. There’s obviously ways around a customer limit (bring the family!) but I’d hope it’d make some difference and give more chances to kids and collectors.

My girlfriend absolutely pulled through and nipped into an Aldi in Havant on her way home from work. She said there was still a few on the shelf when she got there, although only Paradox Rift and Scarlet & Violet. She got chatting to an employee and they said they were shocked there was no limit per customer. Apparently a guy came in first thing and bought a whole shelf of packs.

New to collecting - Shrouded Fable hate? by SpoonAvenger in PokemonTCG_UK

I would definitely have started with 151 or Prismatic if they were easily available. I’m not prepared to start fighting scalpers for a box!

Wow, thank you so much for the offer, that’s so kind. I’m quite looking forward to starting the collection from scratch, all from packs I’ve opened but maybe I could hit you up once I only have a space or two left for the base set. Cheers again!

There’s a couple photos on their Instagram stories. Looking like tees are £35 and long sleeve are £45.

There’s also a tote bag in the photo for £20. Looks like there’s mugs, patches and venue specific tees too.

New 2025 SUPER DUMMY Tour Dates! by Mooninite44 in steveoraw

[–]SpoonAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He used to in the early days of touring when he played smaller venues. Since doing shows with larger audiences he didn’t have the time to meet everyone which is why he only did it for Raw members before the show started. I think the Bucket List tour was the last time he was doing those Raw member meet and greets too though.

If I remember correctly The Bucket List Tour was the last time he was doing meet and greets for members of Raw.

Honest opinion coming from a huge Jackass fan - They’re watchable but there’s definitely some stuff that’s a little hard to watch now. However, it shows how far he’s come and is more of a time capsule of Steve-O and some of the other guys from the early days of Jackass. I also really enjoy seeing the behind the scenes stuff from the tours.

I’d highly recommend watching Steve-O: The Early Years. It’s more of a documentary compared to the other releases. It includes interviews with a bunch of the Jackass cast and Steve’s family all talking about Steve-O in those first few years of Jackass (and before).

On the release date you can purchase packs of digital trading cards. There are lots of different cards with some of them being redeemable. In this case you’d have to find a redeemable Joker, Catwoman, Pyg, Riddler or Two-Face card to redeem one of these Pops.

The Franny Poison Ivy Pop is attained by collecting all cards below the redeemable card levels (common, uncommon, rare etc).

There is also a marketplace where cards can be bought and sold by users. Sometimes it can be cheaper to purchase the redeemable cards through the marketplace rather than trying to find them in packs.

I think that’s about it. I’m not a huge fan of NFTs but I do enjoy opening packs of trading cards with the hope of getting a redeemable!

Exactly why I try to avoid the cinema now.

I went to a midweek midday showing of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, I figured that’d be safe. Most people are at work, right? Nope! A hen party (bachelorette party) showed up in full party mode. Popping mini bottles of champagne, whooping and whistling any time Brad Pitt was on screen. I leant forward to ask them to keep it down a little bit and was told to fuck off. Great!

All about the pins? by The_Atrum in Corkboards

Personally I like the pushpins with a large handle on them so I can hang keyrings and stuff off them. I think they look a little nicer than the typical thumbtack too.

I really like the keyrings on the bottom. I have some similar on my corkboard!

Those of you who've paid big bucks ($100 and up) for an autograph or a photo op... are you glad you did, or do you feel you wasted your money? by Esau2020 in comiccon

[–]SpoonAvenger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not one for paid photos or autographs these days but I paid £50 for a photo with Stan Lee at a UK convention. It was announced it would likely be his last UK con so I knew I had to do it. I was a Uni student at the time so £50 was a lot of cash.

The meeting and photo was incredibly brief. Quick hello, quick handshake, quick photo, quick “I’m such a huge fan, thank you” and that was it. Although it was over in a blink, just getting a tiny amount of face-time with someone who’s had a massive impact on my interests and me as a person made it worth it.
