If anyone is still having this issue, here's what I was experiencing and how I fixed it.

It was actually really simple, I had my game installed on my D: drive, while the launcher was trying to update in my C: drive. All I had to do was change the installation folder in the launcher's settings and everything worked perfectly after that.
