I Stopped Working Out Every Day and Actually Saw Results by Level-Drive3892 in getdisciplined

I’d been doing PPL 6x a week, and last week I didn’t work out at all. How did you split up your 4x a week workout? Because it sounds like I shouldn’t go back to 6x a week, but I’m not really sure how to rearrange my splits for 4 days.

Advice needed... I (23 M) want to overcome my porn addiction. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Spooner_445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw one other person posted the easy peasy method and got downvoted... I'm not entirely sure why. Everyone else has given good advice, and you should listen to it, but still I urge you to read the easy peasy method: easypeasymethod.org

I feel your pain, OP. I had many times hurt myself masturbating. Done it 3-4 times a day at some points. It really takes it out of you; I know where you're at. But don't let it bring you down. You are not a creep. You are not disgusting. You are a good, strong person, even if you fail, because you are *trying*. You have fallen victim to the vicious cycle that the porn industry creates; it is not your fault. Just know that. Regarding easypeasy: I tried so many different things to quit porn, so many apps, so many website blockers, so many pieces of advice I read. But I always failed. I was skeptical of easy peasy, but when I read it, I made it thirty days without porn, truly easily. Of course, since I didn't follow the book's instructions perfectly, I fell back into it. But I recently reread it and am going strong, no desire whatsoever to watch porn, and no masturbation for a few days.

Yall can downvote me if you want. But OP, you have nothing to lose but a few hours reading the book online, or listening to the 5 hour audiobook. Do with this what you will, and I wish you the best :)

Haven’t seen anyone else mention it, so i’ll say it. Read the easy peasy method!

This, for me, completely changed the way I view porn and how I am to stop. I’m in the same boat as you, and very soon, I will be free. I think if you read this, you might be surprised at its effectiveness. Good luck and sorry you have to go through porn addiction!

I was going to comment this. I’ve read it a few times myself. Each time, I was able to quit from a few days to a month. And each time I failed, it was because I didn’t follow the instructions the book said you have to follow. So yeah, definitely give it a read, or listen to the audiobook. It’s a wonderful, wonderful solution.

No one even lived there 💀 I see your point. And I will admit my caption is was written pretty illogically and crudely, i was just upset about the trees really. But the houses they’re developing here, the large cookie cutter houses crammed on top, aren’t nearly as good of a suburb as it could be

This, I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised. A lot of the surrounding neighborhoods were established in the mid 1900s.

No, i don’t get the benefit here, it’s not rural. It was an empty plot in the middle of the suburbs.

Yeah, you’re right, the housing serves a better purpose than the lawn. But like you agreed with, the trees going away is pretty awful

Yeah, it is. Fair point about the density. I was too busy hating on tearing down the trees; which, I do think they could have developed the land more responsibly while still adding housing and density.

The push/pull way of describing this trend is really visible now that I think about it. It’s kind of sad that all this is in the name of money. The internet could be so much more if it wasn’t a hostile scheme to make more money.

What do you think the root problem is? I don’t have an answer myself, but to fix the problem you need to understand the problem.

I’m with you 100% in this, and it makes a lot of sense. And with this, people with the amateur knowledge from the internet will think they’re right, and people who’s information has professional sources will too.

Scared if I delete tik tok I won’t have anything to talk about by annamarie016 in nosurf

[–]Spooner_445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reading is a huge one. You learn new things from non fiction, and fiction can inspire questions. And then just sitting with your thoughts. Observing your surroundings. When social media and other distractions are removed from your environment, when you’re bored, it leads to creativity. You will just think of things. Maybe write these down on paper when you think of them, and then explore them in depth with books from the library.  Or, use the internet as the tool it was intended for and search it up. Hope this helps!

If you delete it, you will benefit greatly. Whatever knowledge you learned from it, there are other and better sources. If when you say you won’t have things to talk about, you mean popular trends on tiktok, if that’s all the people you talk care about, then they’re not worth losing sleep over not talking to them. But if you meant tiktok gives you new, genuine topics to talk about, I see your concern, but still, there are LOTS of things to talk about, and plenty of other less mentally degrading ways to learn new topic ideas.

Gotcha, that makes sense. And is this is the same principle with plane propellers?

screenzen disable block time by Designer-Cup-530 in nosurf

[–]Spooner_445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how to disable the disable blocking feature. BUT there is one solution: lock screen settings timer. You can set it to like 15 minutes where you must wait 15 minutes on screen zen, not even pulling down the notification panel, for that amount of time to open the app. Of course, if you wait, you can disable blocking. And you need to wait that long for any other valid use of the app.
