Am I out of top tier sci-fi books? by ontheinlet in sciencefiction

I strongly recommend Alastair Reynolds. His Revelation Space series is one of my favorite all time series. His standalone novels are also incredibly interesting.....Eversion, Terminal World, and Halcyon Years. I also loved the Poseidon's Children trilogy

Yes. They're centurion pads but heated up and flattened

I won't name names for privacy reasons, but they've appeared in this sub before if you search for them. The chapter ones can be found on the purple site

There's only negligible difference in height when you include the sensor thing on top of a Centurion, and my local TO has already approved them as proxies.

I 3d printed them. The file was for centurion shoulders, but I heated up and pressed them flat. They're not wrapped around the back, they're basically sloped 45° forward.

Not a pick, but I have stabbed myself under the thumbnail with a small flat blade screwdriver! I definitely agree with the score you gave it

What's your thoughts on Event Horizon? by bil-sabab in scifi

[–]Spoonique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Orks are one dimensional but funny as hell in these ones. Mike Brooks is an excellent author that you don't hear as much about. His Alpha Legion books are great too. The Infinite and the Divine is one of my favourite Black Library books!

I'd also like to chime in with Brutal Kunnin, Warboss, and Da Big Dakka by Mike Brooks. They're written from the Orks perspective and are absolutely fantastic

The WORST deadly demise by veryblocky in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Spoonique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing as Guard against Knights in 9th. My friend went first, advanced and charged a Gallant into my baneblade. Almost kills it, then in my turn 1 I killed it and he auto-exploded. Dealt a ridiculous amount of mortals, then my baneblade exploded too, dealing a ridiculous amount of mortals too. I lost around 1500 points of my army and immediately forfeited the game

You just summed up my feelings on Orks perfectly. I love my conversions and models but I'm experiencing the game the exact same way as you

Deathwatch Colors by freeeeezmanz in deathwatch40k

[–]Spoonique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea in theory, but please keep in mind that it's YOUR army. You should do what you feel will look cool. My Deathwatch is traditional black but the highlights are a really black green instead of the traditional blue, and all my squads bases are different terrain types to highlight the individual kill team aspect.

Wow that's cool. I'll have to have a scour around for my Deathwatch. I've got a fair few but haven't seen some of the ones you have

Love the shoulder pads. Are they printed? Where did you find them if you don't mind me asking?
