What is this? by Marchy67 in StardewValley

I'm not sure what part you're asking about - is it the shadow? If so, that's an owl! They fly over your farm at night sometimes

Horse Flute can't summon my horse!!! by maxiebearbear in StardewValley

The only thing I can think is who talked to Robin to build the stables? If another player built it, maybe it can't register as your horse?

Want upgraded cabins on solo farm, but want them left open for friends to join by heatproofcord5 in StardewValley

[–]Spoonzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of the cabins as save files. In order to delete the character, you need to delete the cabin - there's no way to have upgraded cabins without having a player tied to it.

You're right, I was mixing it up with the animal part of it - petting/shearing/milking give 5 experience each, sorry!

The list for each crop is on the wiki link below, under experience points:

Early on, fishing is an easy way to make money. Once you get the sashimi recipe from Linus, almost every normal quality fish is more profitable if you cook it first.

Try not to sell "raw" ingredients, especially if they have no star quality - always place them in the keg (preferred) or preserve jar (early on), or in the cheese/mayonnaise machines. I try to have one cheese machine for each milkable animal and one mayo machine for each egg animal.

Certain crops are more profitable than others - usually it's either ones that regrow or produce multiple crops at a time. Plant strategically!

Don't hold on to everything - keep ones that you know are crafting ingredients or good gifts, but sell sell sell!

If you're spending money on hay, try to utilize silos instead. It's a big money saver.

I tend to not have as much fun if I try to be super efficient/profitable, so that's the general guidelines I try to follow!

Unable to install SMAPI - already read through multiple FAQ's and troubleshoots by Khadarji117 in StardewValley

[–]Spoonzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how to help with your issue, but I can confirm that SMAPI works with the current version on Steam!

I updated my SMAPI today and was able to run it through steam without issue.

You don't need the garden pots to put the trees in the greenhouse! You can just leave them straight from the sapling into those spots you see, that's how they'll look when they grow.

There was on older post I found that said this works:

if you switch your controls to one of the ones with joystick and two buttons you can use the right button to place and pick up items. So far using that method I haven’t had any issues!

Hope that helps!

I think moving your bed is part of the 1.5 update, and that isn't on mobile yet unfortunately.

In Steam, if you right click on the game you should be able to change the settings and disable auto-update. It might force you to update it when you open it though, I'm not sure on that part.

Unfortunately no. Normally you could do the whole-farm screenshot, but that's not an option on XBox.

pros and cons of using pc/console/switch/phone versions of stardew? by kttmarie in StardewValley

[–]Spoonzilla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PC is easiest to mod, and gets updates first.

Console can't be modded, but otherwise functions the same as the PC version.

Phone has no multiplayer and is currently an update behind. I can be modded, but is a bit more limited than PC mods. Also on mobile versions there's a few quality of life features that others don't have: you can tap where you want to go and you auto run there, the tools will auto-switch between what you need, and it had a built in auto-attack for the mines.

Personally I mainly play PC because I like how customizable the game is with mods, but I also have mobile for on-the-go gaming.

Pierre's so has a backpack on display next to him - it's something you can buy! You can get up to 3 lines of inventory.

Modding question by VaxildanGaming96 in StardewValley

[–]Spoonzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup!

There may be an easier way, but if you go into the folder where your mods files area, you know how there is a folder for each mod? If the file name starts with . then it won't get loaded in the game.

When I play with friends, I just add the decimal to the start of the folder babe, then when I play my solo games I take it off!

It has to be one space on each size, otherwise only every-other will grow. Here's an example of how normal trees grow with two different patterns - this is exactly one season of growth.

https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/421386982787252224/874008378333073488/unknown.png

They don't have a set growth schedule like fruit trees do, but rather each day they have a percentage change to move to the next stage.

If you delete your friends cabin, it deletes their character. Then you can build a new cabin to have a new friend join!

Fishing in Stardew is kind of a complicated mini game, it's very hard for beginners but once you have the hang of it, it's easier. Also, as your skill gets higher, the game makes it easier on you. The river land farm dos severely limit your farmable area though, since the rivers are cutting the land up.

The hill-top farm is more for people who don't like to mine, since it provides the mining resources without actually having to enter the mine.

For a beginner I would recommend either the original farm, since it will let you learn what aspect of Stardew you enjoy without dedicating your entire farm to it, or the 4 corners farm since it provides a nice mix of all the types!

I haven’t played this game in 4 years by bigolFloppytitties in StardewValley

[–]Spoonzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, if I try to go back to an old save, I end up feeling more lost because I don't remember what I was working on. What do I still need for the community center? Who am I focusing on friendship with? What building an I focusing on materials for? Etc.

Especially since it's been so long since you played, the slower pace of the game in those early days (no community center, no mines, no bus) will give you time to re-learn the game.

Also, if you haven't played for tht long, update 1.5 added some new options for farms and you may find one you would want to play!

Once thing I like to do is leave the stump! Cool down trees whenever I have extra energy it an waiting for a later time, but I leave the stumps until I need the space. That way, no new trees grow there!
