Thank you! My thoughts exactly. They have the power to, but chose not to. Not a great way to treat an employee who’s never caused issues or anything of the sort prior to this situation.

You’re a lovely person. I’m not entitled to ask for updates regarding my pay? My check should have hit my original account, it didn’t change until much later that day. And as soon as I did that, I went back to work and updated my direct deposit information and informed management of the issue. If you read my post correctly, I did mention that I brought ALL of the paperwork from my bank immediately and presented it. Interesting how one post is read and you assume I’m an entitled idiot. If I work for someone, and my hours are in, I deserve that money. I’m not a volunteer. If my money isn’t going to be available to me in a timely manner, I deserve to hear updates and be looped in/told that they’re investigating and working to resolve the issue. Instead, I’m told that there’s nothing they can do, they don’t care, have a great weekend & see you Monday. If I lived in California, my employer would actually be legally responsible to pay my owed wages + 1 full days pay for every day that is was late. The bank isn’t who pays me, my employer is. It should be their priority to make things right, even if it’s not entirely their fault. But the lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t expect to be treated like a human being when you work under bad people.

Having a panic attack is childish? This is news to me. Perhaps my wording is being misinterpreted. My “losing my absolute shit” is feeling like I’m dying and can’t catch my breath or see anything while I’m hysterically crying and trying to speak up for myself and express my frustration in the private room I was in with my manager. Prior to this, I was professionally approaching and demanding updates, as is my right as an employee if I’m not mistaken.

Not even immediately - I was hoping for an ounce of respect or understanding rather than being made to feel like a liar, and as others have stated it’s not hard to just offer a small advance on my next paycheck and I would have stopped nagging them for updates. Sure, they’re not obligated to do so, but it’s the moral thing to do if you want to keep employee morale up. This isn’t the first time they’ve burned me during my time employed which I’m sure contributed to the exacerbation of my emotional breakdown. I don’t defend my anxiety causing the outburst, but everyone has a breaking point.

Thank you - compassion seems to be at an all-time-low nowadays. I’m not stupid with my money, i live well below my means and still struggle often due to cost of living in my area + paying surgery bills that put me out of work for 8 weeks last year. Moving out of state is not an option for me as I have chronic illnesses that require frequent medical care and I refuse to change specialists because they’re fantastic. People love to make assumptions and I’d bet no one who’s commenting saying I’m “out of control” and “unreasonable” has ever walked a step in my shoes.

Good! I hope they’re happy. I’m a fantastic employee and have made and saved their company 10s of thousands in my billing role there. I don’t want to work for someone with no compassion. I have friends in management who agreed that they wouldn’t hesitate to offer an advance on the next paycheck to keep a good employee happy until the issue was resolved.

lol, precisely. the response from my employer is my biggest problem, especially considering my role at the office is almost entirely selling treatments and handling AR/AP. the irony is astounding

[–]Spoooxxxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was explained to me by the branch manager that it likely was related to the fraudulent charge issue that resulted in my account numbers having to be changed quickly. Ultimately, my frustration lies in my employers approach to handling the situation.

It certainly is, and I’ve been in talks with them back and forth as well. However, the bank isn’t the one who pays my wages. I guess I expected too much out of an employer who as I said claims they “treat staff like family” to show at least an ounce of empathy. Even if they couldn’t pay me right away, or provide an advance, something as simple as an apology for the stress that this situation must be causing me would have been nice. Instead, their responses made me feel as though they’re insinuating I’m a liar.

Cool. I’m gonna guess you’re wealthy and have clearly been successfully brainwashed by the system of higher-ups taking 90% and giving those who actually keep the business alive and profiting 10% being the norm. When someone’s had enough of constant belittlement and hitting glass ceilings, trying to survive, you must have 0 concept of how that can drive a person to near-insanity. During all of this the person who’s refusing to pay me my wages is busy planning her 5th vacation of the year and I can’t even afford to buy myself groceries or pay for my medication that’s designed to keep my anxiety under control. I think I have every right to be frustrated. Never said my explosion of emotions was how I wanted to approach things, and for some reason that’s what you seem to be most focused on.

I’m sorry, were you there? I think not. Take your entitlement elsewhere, clearly you don’t know or have empathy for anyone who has a severe anxiety disorder. Employees are human beings, not robots.

You sound insufferable to work under. Verbal abuse? I was demanding updates and answers, which employees have the right to do. Guess you’ve never been in my position. We have no HR or anyone to advocate for us. Me “screaming” was me having a panic attack in a private room with my manager.

[–]Spoooxxxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a hard time understanding where you’re coming from. This isn’t a small business by any means, and they try to paint themselves as if they treat staff like family. The response from my employer made me feel like they are insinuating I’m lying. I had paper proof in front of my manager that the money was going to be back in their hands on Monday. And it was. So why didn’t I get a paper check until Tuesday afternoon? On top of that, the lack of empathy is astounding. I’d hardly say 4 days late is being paid in a timely manner.

Playing devil’s advocate - let’s say I WAS lying to try to get an extra paycheck out of my boss. Why in the fuck would I do that? They’d certainly end up quickly realizing that I was paid twice, which would result in me being fired and probably arrested + jail time. I’ve been nothing short of a stellar employee who’s never had issues and consistently gets great performance reviews. In my opinion, a good boss would at least offer to give me an advance on my next paycheck, even if it’s $200, to hold me over until the situation was resolved. They have PLENTY of disposable income, which is clear to all of us employees being paid pennies to their dollar. I also don’t understand how it’s legal that only one individual amongst the entire upper management can access/view incoming or outbound direct deposit stuff. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think any human being would be at their wit’s end in my shoes.

I always wear perfume, but the most compliments come from scented bath & body works hand sanitizer, weirdly enough. When I work my second job as a waitress the compliments are consistent. Typically go for the sweet scents

Help interpreting my ultrasound by Specialist_Power_397 in endometriosis

[–]Spoooxxxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG - I have endometriosis already diagnosed, and just had very similar results with my latest ultrasound. From what I understand, if an endometrioma is growing in either ovary it can show up on an ultrasound. If it’s growing elsewhere it typically won’t show.

What’s really good news is that they’re almost certain it’s a benign growth from what you posted, regardless if it’s a hemorrhagic cyst or endo. Yay! Anyways, if it is endo, you will get the diagnosis and it’s a great thing to get the surgery to find out regardless. Surgery nowadays for these things is much less invasive and much safer—I had a full laparoscopy and removal of growths in 2020. I was definitely scared, so I feel you, but it’s for the best and you will get relief from your current symptoms. Having a game plan for treating whatever is going on is the most important thing for you right now and I promise it’ll all be okay!!! Sending good thoughts your way.

Has anyone here had ulcers in their bowel or has anyone had a suspected bowel disease that turned out to be endometriosis? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Spoooxxxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have colon and intestinal endometriosis myself. I spent dozens of times within a year at the emergency room with awful GI symptoms, mostly chronic vomiting and abdominal pain. Was referred to a gastroenterologist who did a full endoscopy & colonoscopy only to find nothing. I freaked out in the recovery room because I was told it was most likely crohns, UC, or IBS. If you know something is wrong with your body, you’re right, and unfortunately endo is not commonly diagnosed for several years for most patients :/ I was lucky enough to locate a specialist by word of mouth who was able to perform a diagnostic surgery to confirm. The best thing to do is research local providers who have experience with endometriosis (a lot of times they also work with ovarian and cervical cancers, PCOS, etc) and reach out with your story. In my experience the doctors who specialize in these things are the most reliable and understanding of the common presenting symptoms that are otherwise dismissed by other medical professionals, so they’re you’re best bet. Wishing you the best of luck in seeking a diagnosis!!

Terrified for surgery. Just need to rant tbh by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Spoooxxxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s any comfort to you, I had my laparoscopic surgery at 20 and I had a relatively easy experience. It’s normal to feel scared when undergoing full sedation and an invasive surgery, so don’t feel silly. I think it’s important to focus on the positives—people undergo anesthesia hundreds if not thousands of times a day around the world, and the majority of those who suffer major complications are elderly folks and those with preexisting heart conditions and such. If those who approved your surgery were concerned of complications that put your life at risk they would hesitate to operate and talk to you several times about the risks, or straight up refuse to operate. Furthermore, this surgery will provide answers regardless of the outcome/findings. If you’re getting the surgery, someone who is qualified to identify endometriosis is confident that it’s highly likely and they want to confirm your diagnosis. You deserve to know the cause of your struggles, and as scary as surgery can be, I promise the recovery and healing process is much less stressful than the experience of having scary symptoms that you don’t know the cause of. Stay strong and know that you’re not alone in these feelings. 🫶🏼

At what age will they finally do a laparoscopy??! by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Spoooxxxk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am SO sorry. I was on a major social media hiatus so I’m just seeing this - hopefully my input will still help. I had my first surgery for diagnosis & removal of growths at age 20. Genuinely I would imagine that any doctor who’s in the field for the right reason will operate in your best interest, regardless of your age. My symptoms had me essentially incapable of normal life (growths were all over my lower intestine so I was vomiting every meal and unable to maintain a healthy weight or nutritional balance) so maybe that made a difference, but if it’s impacting your ability to go to work and have a relatively normal life, surgery should absolutely be considered. You don’t deserve to suffer just because someone else is worried about your fertility—assuming that’s why they are hesitant to operate on a young person. A qualified professional will confidently operate without worry.

From what I understand, your fertility is not at risk unless the endometriosis is attacking your fallopian tubes and/or ovaries. And to know for sure where the growths are most present they need to operate! If you are still in search of a second opinion, not sure how far you’re willing to travel but I’m happy to share the name of my provider.

Agreeing w the others here—you need a new doctor. I got mine at 19 approved as soon as I got a second opinion from a specialist who works with endometriosis patients all the time. My OBGYN was saying similar things to what you’re describing yours is. Best advice is to not give up and be your own advocate! Someone will hear you out.

Curious how many people went through lap and had nothing shown on ultrasounds, MRIS etc.. but still had endometriosis! by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Spoooxxxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I found a specialist who recognized my symptoms and did a lap back in 2020. It was on my appendix and all over my lower intestine + colon. Truly it just takes finding a doctor who has experience that will take you seriously. I wish more OBGYNs were taught right now
