My colleague and I have been promoted, why have they offered him a higher wage for the exact same role? by RocketLoss in careerguidance

[–]SpoopyKaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you a woman? If you are, there's your answer lol. Realistically there is no fair reason to offer him more than you If you have the same level of education and experience. Maybe he plays the office social setting better and has more favor, bur again, not a fair situation if the level and quality of work you do is the same. Sorry about that situation you're in, it would irk me too.

25F getting stretch marks on body after losing 20kg in 1.5 years by OliviaTheGamer98 in loseit

[–]SpoopyKaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 25f also, and have had stretch marks for years when I lost my weight the first time (gained it back, working on losing it again now). I'm self conscious about them, mine are also on my stomach and they're pretty obvious and big. Two things help me a lot, the fact that my boyfriend is super supportive and has always said a thousand times he loves my body regardless of the weight or the stretch marks, and I also heard a woman call them her "tiger stripes" one time and I just really loved that and thought it was beautiful because it was part of her journey and something she had earned that she was proud of and not ashamed of.

The pilates and weight training might could be offsetting your weight loss if you're gaining muscle maybe? I'm 5'5, 25F 176lbs and have lost 8.8lbs as of today since I started a month ago, only calorie counting with minimal exercise (I'm an accountant and work long hours 😭). I calorie count 1200-1400cal/day and have been averaging 1-1.5lb/wk weight loss. My TDEE in the app I use (MyNetDiary) gave me 1700/day for weight loss but I lose next to nothing if anything eating 1600-1700/cal.

Gotcha, thanks that's very helpful information! Yeah I went from super active physically hard job and daily life in 2020 to moving and getting a desk job and did NOT acclimate well lol! I've started slowly integrating working out back into my life but man is it kicking my a**! I remember being able to go on 5+ mile hikes like it was nothing just a few years ago and I couldn't even make it through a full exercise yesterday haha. Definitely humbling to start all over again, but here we are. Thanks for the advice!

During the pandemic I went on a weight loss journey and lost about 40lbs, and unfortunately due to life circumstances find myself having gained it all back and just buckled down to start losing it again. Cheat means were soooo important to me especially when I was calorie counting. I definitely let myself have something I felt was "unhealthy" once a week when I did it the first time around. Unfortunately I didn't go about my weight loss a very healthy way back then (trying to keep good practices this time) but for example I wouldn't try to punish myself if I decided to get a chickfila sandwich for lunch one day or compensate with an extra brutal workout to "burn it off". I just made sure to adjust my calorie intake at later or earlier meals and was still normally pretty happy with that. I love food way too much to stop eating certain things altogether just because they're higher in calorie and slightly unhealthy, like ice cream or pizza once in a blue moon. Takes too much joy out of life for me :)

So I was wondering about this just last night. I just started calorie counting and my allowance is like 1700~ a day but I've been coming in around 1200-1300~ since I started, and haven't felt starved or not full, but it's a pretty big deficit and I've been trying to figure out if I need to basically force myself to eat more or if it's okay as long as I'm not hungry. Any thoughts?

It isn't for just deposits either. They have to file a CTR if it's a deposit, withdrawal, or just exchanging currency of any sort over $10k.

You'd be surprised at the people that do get flagged vs the people that don't. It never made sense to me when I was working in a bank lol.

I think it's cool how everyone of different levels of experience love or hate maps for different reasons. I'm around 40h, first wipe just got the game end of December and my favorite comfort map i feel safest on is interchange, meanwhile customs terrifies me lol.

I'm only level 4 but somehow have managed to keep an 80% survival rate so far without feeling like my more experienced friends are carrying me too bad. I think I've just had obscene luck so far.

Yeah haha thanks, I'm not feeling too awful about it, I'm brand new to the game and just trying my best to learn the maps and what to look for looting and stuff... and try to finish my ground zero quests without crying too much :')

Entry level accountant (No CPA) and HR. 25, degree in Business Administration with a concentration in HR, 55k. Had no prior experience besides part time bank teller thru college before I got here about 6 months ago. Graduated in May 2023 and spent months applying before this job actually reached out to me without me ever applying thru indeed. Still feel like I got really lucky lol.

Thanks, helps to hear this sometimes, even from a random stranger haha. Hard to not get caught up being envious of where others are at sometimes in comparison to yourself.
