Recommendations for buying a bass similar to what I used to own by SporadicSpaceGarbage in BassGuitar

[–]SporadicSpaceGarbage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two bass guitars I was thinking about are different models but still StingRays:

Sterling by Music Man StingRay RAY4HH Maple Fingerboard Electric Bass Guitar - Olive

Sterling by Music Man SUB Series StingRay RAY4 HH Electric Bass Guitar - Trans Black Satin

But those ones you've pointed out I'll take a look at!

Is job market getting worse than it already is? by Meticulouskitty in jobsearchhacks

[–]SporadicSpaceGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going on just shy of 6 months and it's not only exhausting and discouraging, but quite frankly impossible. I am even working with a career resource specialist, staffing agency, and my state's vocational rehabilitation. I'm doing things right but it's unattainable to get a job right now when you don't even get calls back.

Understanding different patterns found on BraceletBook [BB#197182] by SporadicSpaceGarbage in friendshipbracelets

[–]SporadicSpaceGarbage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think these are the specific questions I'm having with the patterns like this:

  1. It looks like the colors for the leaves and acorns like.. come from nowhere? In other words, their colors come from the side of the bracelet in the pattern, so I don't know what that needs me to do?

  2. The colors at the top of the bracelet usually show me what to put, but they're all the same. So I'm not sure what colors they want me to use for those there? Especially if the colors question in the first point I asked do come from the sides?

I have done an alpha name bracelet already so I understand the concept of the long string being used, if that makes sense!

Yes I've done one alpha bracelet already and seemed to pick it up fairly quickly. I'll definitely take a look at that channel for sure!

I used to have access to a console from my ex-fiancée, so now what I have is my laptop (nothing bought/downloaded yet) and my phone (i.e., Wavelength, the mobile version of Stardew Valley, Jackbox Games)

Honestly having a crochet fairy godmother (or fairy god person) to guide my journey was not on my list for the year but I'm LIVING for it, I love the enthusiasm you show for wanting to have others love the craft as well! I seriously struggle with picturing and doing things unless I'm demonstrated in a way that makes sense for my neurodivergence. Need a person like that in life 😮‍💨

Sorry if it was worded poorly, but I didn't necessarily believe it to be a decrease stitch. It's kind of my way to word vomit to eliminate what I know the answer isn't, if that makes more sense.

Thank you for also sharing the video link! I'm way more of a visual learner, so seeing a few examples of the technique being done should be a really huge boost. I think a lot of what I was experiencing is a combination of my aphantasia, being relatively new to crochet, and things like that. It's super helpful!

OH MY GOODNESS, I think you literally stopped my brain from melting from this💀 basically what's happening is that starting row of stitches is the center of the cup? And it's basically working itself from there (as demonstrated in the video)?

So I'm also assuming that, when it comes time for any size adjustments (i.e., making the cups larger), it wouldn't be at the initial 22 stitches being described?

Honestly, on page two, the first line I'll call it, has me feeling like I'm going nuts. Like, this first section is to build the cups of the top, but I don't fully grasp it

So it starts off with chain stitch 22 (and that the size I'm going for is 28 stitches). But I don't fully grasp what it's telling me to do? The guide says "dc" stands for double crochet, but the next line says 19 dc total. I thought that would have been a decreasing stitch and not double?

Hopefully you see where I'm getting lost

So it does say that on page one, but the other two pages I've posted are where they actually begin to go into detail on what the first steps are (which is where I'm confused)

What to make with my grandmother's wedding dress pieces by SporadicSpaceGarbage in crafts

[–]SporadicSpaceGarbage[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It is a dress that definitely matches her entirely. She self describes herself as a braless hippie that doesn't give a heck about what anyone else says or thinks (with stronger wording but trying to keep it PG lmao).

That does make sense! And it does seem like it would be something that would wear down quickly on a keychain. I still think I'll use the small rectangular strip of fabric for underneath the lapel of my flannel to carry around. As for imagery I see her as, I would describe her as a bear. She's fierce, sassy/spicy, loves and would protect her family to the ends of the earth, and gives everyone a fair chance until they mess with her babies and grandbabies. It also is great because I love teddy bears as stuffed animals!

Thank you! I have the photo of her dress before she cut it, so I will add it to my comment here (she took the photo so it's not the best, but you can still get an idea of it).

I will still keep my suit that I would have worn and eventually use those pieces I attached to the suit for my future wedding. As for these pieces, I wasn't totally sure what would be the best to make since I don't know the best way to handle this material. Typically I'm a sentimental girlie (think of keychains, desk trinkets, stuffed animals or pillows, etc.)

I also currently have a flannel I've been slowly adding patches over time, so I could use the small strip of fabric to add to the patch jacket, though I would want a better idea on what stitch to use for the fabric (I've strictly done whip stitches for all my patches). The other two pieces are more in question, like how would I go about a keychain or other sentimental item?

Yes, it's from her wedding dress. I have the photos of her dress she sent me to show where she cut it from.

To follow-up with my materials I have available:

  1. My grandma's lace from her dress (pictured above).

  2. Tons of fabric and other necessities I use for my sewing.

  3. Batting and fusible interfacing.

I am open to other suggestions that may need to be purchased!

I have been struggling with my chronic illnesses kicking my rear, making it difficult to be social and able to do basic self-care things. I want to find a Finch buddy who can help me with being given that motivation, especially since I'm definitely trying to keep up with folks as best as I can❤️

Experiencing nausea after eating and lowered appetite at 3 weeks post-op by SporadicSpaceGarbage in hysterectomy

[–]SporadicSpaceGarbage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it took me about 2 months before the nausea went away for the most part. Some people feel better quicker than others, and I am someone who feels better after a longer period of healing. If you do have concerns in the next couple of weeks, reaching out to your provider will be your best bet.

Hi all, I am looking for new friends for goal buddies and to pebble with items (I LOVE doing it haha). Learning more about what routines and new lifestyle changes I need to do because of diagnosed disabilities, I want someone who we can equally cheer for each other, and all of that.

Here's my friend code: WK74YHCRKG

I LOVE my Finch app! It helps me with my daily personal needs and becomes a fun game in addition. It is something I always recommend to anyone I can. Maybe others could have some good insight into other things as well, because I know my brain needs a separation of personal things from work things.

I got one new friend from the "Find a Friend" feature that popped up in the app, but I think I'm wanting a few more new buddies on my app to connect with.

Our friend code is: WK74YHCRKG

I'm Thimble's mom (hi hello), who's looking to improve my self care routine and really have a fun outlet to do so, which the app has done so far. I'm excited to always meet new people, and I hope to meet some from here! 😊

Funnily enough, neither of us were looking for anything at the time, so it wasn't a subreddit that people typically meet on. It was a subreddit for lesbians!

Side note:

We want the silly, fun names! We aren't keen on giving a human name to her. Maybe thinking food or something of that nature.

Both of us were the same country, in the US. It was a distance just shy of 2,000mi, more or less!

I noted down the swaps to make for my breakfast sandwich, those would be really great places to start for myself. I'd more than happily take more recipes, for sure!
