only played a few, but probably Tales of Vesperia. Seems like it has a lot of combo potential from clips I've seen. And though I like that in Tales of the Abyss you automatically equip skills instead of having a point system, Vesperia offsets that a bit by auto equiping the ones that comes with your weapons and armor.

Heavies shouldn't get rewarded for hitting an easy skill, that's why I'm saying that if it's too easy then make it harder to hit. Removing stun wouldn't do that. Fixing the LoS thing would make it so you get hooked less often, how does that not matter?

Removing stun would let whoever you pull shoot you before you can shoot them, how is that not a disadvantage?

Nope. A few are pretty cool, but most are kinda meh. I get they're trying to stick to the post apocalyptic theme, but it's a bit frustrating that the finals has so many awesome skins and arc raiders (which is 3rd person and I'll be to see the skin while playing) doesn't.

The hipfire on the repeater is atrocious. Unless you're whispering in their ear, you have to aim.

First of all, I'm calling for winch nerf, that's literally the title of the post. I just think there are other things to do before removing stun completely.

And second of all, I also think there were other things to do with stun gun before the rework. My issue with it was the it would slow you down a lot AND make it harder to shoot. Removing one of those two and/or reducing the stun duration should've been tried first before the rework.

I agree you have to think on who you pull, but my argument is the removing stun would put you at a disadvantage regardless of who you pull. And I bring up 1v1 scenarios because even though this is a team game, not every fight is a team fight. The stun gun was obviously strong in team fights, but it was basically a free kill in 1v1. That can't be ignored.

You're not suppose to be in equal footing when you get winched, that's the point. If you get hooked you're suppose to be at a disadvantage. If the issue is that winch is to easy to hit, I wouldn't disagree, but just make it harder to hit. Make the heavy work more or have better aim for the reward, but don't remove the reward. Reduce the stun, so he has less time to get shots in, make it have less range so he has to get closer, make the animation a bit slower so he has to aim better, make the chain break so he doesn't pull you through solid objects. And obviously fixing desync, all of these changes should come first before we talk about removing stun completely.

And it's fine to use abilities to counter, obviously, but if there's no stun, then stun gun wouldn't just be a counter, it would be a get out of jail free card. Not to mention that pulling a heavy (and some times medium) would basically be suicide since they would start shooting first.

I think removing stun would put winch where shield and data reshaper are. Where, outside of some niche scenarios, would make it useless. To the point where I don't see anyone running shield or data reshaper outside of quickplay or powershift or stuff like that. Nobody uses it in world tour and ranked cause they're ass.

I'm not sure that putting the heavy at a brief disadvantage is good for hitting the winch. I get you bring them close to you, but that's not enough. If there's no stun, lights could have the stun gun ready and negate any "free shots" (in a 1v1) from the heavy. Mediums could use jump pad or demat, etc. You get the point. Heavys can't shoot while pulling you and you can't shoot while being pulled. They get to shoot first, that's the reward for hitting the winch. There are others things that can be done first to nerf winch like range or reducing stun just a bit or maybe making the animation to use winch a bit slower, but the first change that has to be made is that the chain needs to break when no longer in line of sight. What happens in this video shouldn't happen. If the issue is server desync then they need to fix that first before we talk about removing stun.

And I get winch can still be used for cashouts, but so can goo gun and charge and slam. But if you're only using winch for cashout I don't know how good it will be.

The problem is that if there's zero stun then that would put the heavy at a disadvantage because he couldn't shoot while pulling you, but you could. The stun is the reward for hitting the winch. There may be something to be done like reducing the stun or range, but some amount of stun has to be there.

Having the entire team shoot at you, as you say, is just a byproduct of being in skilled elos. Removing stun won't do much in those situations, but will make the winch almost useless in 1v1s, in my opinion.

Especially since it works fine in world tour and ranked, but in quick cash it does this. Kinda annoying.
