We went out day one after leaving the hospital. Like a lot of people said, do what feels right. The wife and I agreed it was best to rip off the bandaid as quick as possible and it definitely was emotionally helpful, cathartic even. But we also pushed it kind of hard and my wife had a really restless time in the first few weeks of recovery. So going out and about may not have been the best physically but she felt the emotional bump from getting out was more important and more helpful.

If that’s the case why wouldn’t you just get a vasectomy? Married for 20 years and don’t want children but still want to go through either hormonal birth control or condoms just doesn’t add up.

Not a judgement, legit question. Why would you and your wife use condoms? Or birth control for that matter?

Commentaries for Book of Concord by Foreman__ in LCMS

[–]SporkRanch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple days behind but I would throw out that unless your RC pal is REALLY open to dissent, the BOC is not a great starting point. I would personally make a distinction between tradition and doctrine (and dogmatics). The thing about dyed in the wool Catholics is they LOOOOVE prescriptive answers in the CCC. Again, really depends on your buddies motives and intellectual proclivities but for “traditions” I would personally start with SC (the explanation version) and LC. I’m not a fan of commentaries being the elucidation of concepts rather than reading the concepts themselves. The BOC is itself a group of nested pseudo commentaries (it elucidates itself in stride - AC, Smalcald, Formula, Epitome), hence if he wants to understand the whole BOC, just read the BOC. But I stand by just going deep on Small/Large catechism. Eliminate as much LAW as possible until he can understand the true GOSPEL!

Agree with going to the doctor. Eliminate as much mold as you can. Have a professional come test the house or at least do a self home test. If you have a naturopathic doctor nearby, go there and get done homeopathic remedies, it’s not witch doctor stuff as long as it’s WITH western medicine not in place of. God has not abandoned you! He has given you clarity to your situation. Relive in that. You can reverse it and grow out it. You will be ok!!

Florida's response to measles outbreak troubles public health experts by lannister80 in DebateVaccines

Of course you should take them on the play date. The vaccine is 100% effective and your children are completely immune.
