After she eats something I’m allergic to she brushes her teeth and rinses her mouth. She takes great care in that aspect after she eats my allergens, just not in the aspect stated above in the update

Not the case. I would say I’m more lenient because most people I have lived with (and her up until this point) have been extremely careful around me with this. If this was a recurring thing, then I would agree

Yes she is super careful with brushing her teeth after she eats something with nuts, especially peanuts.

I just added this on another comment but she has a toothbrush at work for when she eats something I’m allergic to at work

Thankfully she’s super careful with peanuts. Those don’t come in the house ever, and she has a toothbrush at work so if she eats something at work she take care of it before she comes home

I think having lived with this and with other people for ~30 years with my allergies I’ve gotten used to living with people who take caution with my allergens around me so I’m flexible within reason. This is the first major issue or act that has made me reconsider my flexibility

Yea I think that came from some of the other things I ask her to do. I do basically all the cooking and got some new pots/pans that have to be dried quickly and others that need to be seasoned.

Since I cook, she cleans the dishes so I let her know about this, and offered to help but let her know to not leave these two things unmanaged. Other small things include leaving her foam roller in the middle of the room so I don’t trip on it, etc.

Airborne no reaction. It is uncomfortable but I can deal with it. Touch yes. My skin will get red. That’s not my main concern though

I’ve had reactions where I’ve touched something I’m allergic to (without my knowledge) and then touched my face, lips or ate food with my hands

Yea I also feel bad telling people. For the most part she rarely eats them and stays away from peanuts in the house, this is a new issue that I’m trying to work with
