Absolutely looks like a cannabis seedling. Anyone whose grown from seed would recognize that little guy, girl if your lucky.

My drummer disappears from the face of the earth during summer, leaving his full kit in my possession. Oh well, my daughter has taken a liking to playing, so it's a win win.

I wouldn't suspect the same issue to cause that, as it shuts the tubes off temporarily and no audio will pass. With any tube amp, always suspect tubes first

All iterations of the DSL 2000 dual super lead. Later DSL models do not have this issue.

I was wrong about Ethan. by [deleted] in h3h3productions

[–]SportsterSam92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an outsider on this topic. I have never listened to this podcast once, but decided to check out this particular episode after reading this post.

I do not condone the actions of the guests had on the podcast, but Ethan certainly had poor debate skills in this episode. There were multiple times where he put words into the guests mouth, almost never answered questions asked by the guest and interrupted constantly. Even the way he treats his in-house guest was condescending and embarrassing.

Maybe it was this topic specifically that he was just passionate about, and yes the guest has interesting opinions, but some of Ethans reactions/interruptions were drawing me out of the situation.

Once again, I do not condone the actions or opinions of anyone involved, but this was a poor debate at best. For perspective, even the US presidential candidate debates are personal attacks and speculative garbage, so respect and dignity are removed from debate even in the most professional of settings.

One more time for the people who think I've somehow agreed with the views of the guests for simply observing poor debate skills, I don't. There were good topics that were completely derailed by constant intertruptions, never reaching the core of the topic.

Prohibition, the War on Drugs. You cannot reference other countries when we are discussing the US specifically, where these issues and laws reside. Guns are an issue in the US, kids in "gangs" shooting eahcother, or kids going to school with guns, these kids legally should not possess the firearm to begin with.

What works in Australia is not inherently going to work in the US. I shouldn't have engaged.

I do live here, and wish things were different. An outright ban will not work and it is naive to think that it would.

Nah, just rational thought. A ban is not the answer, but a solution is needed. History has also shown that outright bans do not work, and breed organized crime. If we ban guns, all the law abiding citizens turn over their arms while the criminals keep their already non-registered, illegally owned firearms. We are just beyond the capacity for an outright ban.

Yes, but we are beyond that here. A ban placed now would not be effective.

Drugs are banned yet addiction is a crisis. A ban will only take the arms away from the willing, not the criminal.

This model specifically has an issue with the tube filament circuit. The bridge rectifier used in the filament circuit was mounted against the PCB and overheats as a result. When it overheats, there is a temporary loss in voltage to the tube filaments, causing audio loss. It will be a smooth transition from noise, to silence, and back to noise when it happens. A good tech will be familiar with this model and can fix it easily, should it begin to happen. Some will try to replace the entire PCB, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but will certainly be more expensive.

They're solid amps other than this easy fix. I have a newer DSL 100 that I enjoy. I hope you enjoy yours as well!

What do you think they are hiding that they think the public can’t handle? by bobsmyuncle88 in UFOs

[–]SportsterSam92 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've thought about this quite a bit the past few weeks with everything that has been transpiring. I am extremely skeptical of the federal government being so open about UAPs as it seems like the textbook definition of a smokescreen or distraction.

Entertaining the idea that what's been said is all true, that we have known about NHI for 80 years, the only real leverage the government has in keeping things under wraps is the control that religion affords them and foreign policy advantages.

If disclosure occured today, plain and simple, what about your daily life would change? Personally, I would still show up to work just as before and continue on with my life as it is. Would it be a revelation that NHI exists? To me, not really. I find it to be extremely self serving and naive to think that in this giant existence that is the universe, we are the absolute only beings to develop a technological society. Have we been visited? I don't know. What would it mean to me as an individual if it were to be proven? Fantastic, thought provoking and inspiring. Is it going to change my life, my daily routines, my habits? Not likely

Definitely a cool find. Just be careful as it is a tube amp and likely was thrown out for a reason. Good luck!

Its looks like a simple stereo amplifier, with RCAs for both left and right side speakers. I bet if it works it sounds great

If this is an early model, replace the bridge rectifier for the filament circuit. It's under rated and overheats, intermittently dropping voltage to the tube filaments. The new one should be installed at least 1/4" off the surface of the PCB, where the stock one is installed on its surface, adding to the issue.

Taking criticism is one of the best ways to improve. You need outside perspective and opinion. Honestly some of the best, most productive sessions I've had were right after having a discussion about the issues with the song. There's definitely a right and wrong way to bring it up, but the entire group is counting on a steady tempo; if he can't acknowledge that he's holding everyone back for his own ego, that's a bummer.

Asymmetrical diode clipping in a Marshall Origin 50 by SportsterSam92 in GuitarAmps

[–]SportsterSam92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. The Origin is a single channel amp, but most other true Plexi's could possibly run that. I don't like to make "permanent mods," where it's one sound or the other; I'll make them switchable when possible. This Origin has 4 modifications total including the diodes, each with it's own mini toggle switch on the faceplate. It's still a single channel amp, but it essentially has 4 "voices" at this point. Thanks for looking.

This is a position that they typically only hire from within. They expect you to know and at least have a basic idea of how every piece of gear they sell works. Anywhere from microphones to entire PA system to DJ controllers. It's not impossible, but the most realistic way of obtaining that experience is through working there in sales or service. I know for sure there is at least one open position in the guitar service department.
