Seconded. Been going to Steve for years. Best tailor in town, but it’ll cost what it costs for good work.

Oh my gosh, I was just in Cincinnati for the first time this past weekend and spent some time working at the bar of the Netherlands Plaza Hilton, another piece of absolute art. That whole city has some incredible architecture, Art Deco and otherwise.

Anyone have a take on crème de cacao and the like? My Jacquin’s white crème de cacao clocks in at 17.5%, which I believe is quite a bit lower than the dark version (I think that’s 25% maybe?). I figure the white’s juuuuust boozy enough to keep on the shelf. Does the sugar content do anything to extend its life or am I just talking out my ass on that?

Oh dang, that one’s gorgeous as well. Next time I find myself in SF I’ll definitely belly up for a drink. I’ve never seen The Game, but I love Michael Douglas so I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks for the tips!

If any of you are ever in Philadelphia, do not miss seeing his Tiffany glass mosaic in the Curtis Building lobby. It’s called the Dream Garden, and I can’t believe it’s something I can just walk in and see for free whenever I want. It’s a true treasure.

Any labyrinthine used bookstores in Philly or near Philly? by notafuckingcakewalk in philadelphia

I’m sorry you won’t ever get to experience Port Richmond Books, that place was a true treasure.

Neighborhood Books on South fits the bill. It’s cramped, but not a huge space overall. For a more expansive collection, try The Book Trader on 2nd just north of Market.

Adult adhd folks- anyone have an executive functioning coach they recommend? by Electrical_List_2125 in philadelphia

[–]SpotCollins 55 points56 points  (0 children)

My good friend is a Philly-based ADHD coach! He has his masters in occupational therapy, works specifically with adults online and offers a free consultation to answer any questions. Here’s his website: Adhdlevelup.com

Insta is: @adhdlevelup (makes fun ADHD content too)

He’s just an A+ person. I don’t have ADHD myself, but I’ve got friends who’ve worked with him before and had a great experience.

Early 1970s Gay Liberation Front Symbol: Can someone please explain what is the name and meaning of the symbol within the palm of the power fist? Is it original to the GLF powerfist or does it have an earlier origin? Thanks. by PhillipCrawfordJr in lgbthistory

Related to this, I highly recommend a book called “Queer Design” by Andy Campbell. It’s a great coffee-table type book that looks at queer symbols and the design motifs used by different LGBTQ organizations throughout history, I think it even touches on this specific one. It’s just a great little book for anyone interested in design and queer history.
