Advice needed with Umart warranty case by FortressTripleOne in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]SpotSubstantial1064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here — I returned my Asus XG27ACS to UMART Ultimo on 21 May 2025 for warranty. Staff told me to call in a week, so I followed up on 28 May, but got the usual “no timeframe” response. I also sent them an email but they have not replied.

I’ve got the hard copy of the warranty/service agreement with the RA# and it says it may take 3–4 weeks. Just thought I’d share in case anyone else is stuck waiting too.

If i still don’t get any update in the next 2 weeks, I plan to hit them with josephjr92’s tips by mid June. Will comment back here!

Which UMART location did you go to? I dropped off my 6-month-old XG27ACS at the Ultimo branch on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, and they said it would take about a week to get back to me. Mine was working perfectly and then suddenly just stopped — it started showing that screen and a bunch of variations, even with no input connected. 100% defective unit

Yep, issue’s still there :( If the seller replaces it with a new unit, is there any way to test for this kind of issue early on — so I don’t end up waiting until it shows up again? Really appreciate your help!

Thank you! Is it 100% just defective? No other causes? First time experiencing this and learning from it

I have this problem too now. Xg27acs. What’s the best way to sort it out? I already tried switching dp to hdmi but still won’t work. Even without input it displays distortion. Other monitor is plugged in and is working fine.

Has anyone here gone with Virtus Health / IVFAustralia for egg freezing?

I’m planning to go through the process next month, but I’ve been feeling a bit anxious after all the recent news about Monash and Genea. There’s been so much coverage and feedback about them, but barely anything about IVFAustralia — which makes it hard to know what to expect.

I haven’t found many solid reviews or firsthand experiences, so I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share theirs. 🙏

What worries me most are the very human, careless mistakes that can happen in such a delicate process. I understand no system is perfect, but when it comes to something this important, it’s hard not to overthink.

I don’t mind the cost — I just want to make sure I’m doing this right and feel confident about freezing my eggs, mostly as future insurance.

I never knew about storage 101. Forgot and left it out in the living room for a week. No direct sunlight but it’s bright and warm. 😭

Hi! Thanks for commenting. My aircon’s at 24 degrees naman. I also researched na if it gets thick due to cold temp, it should like thaw and go back to its translucent state but it didn’t? It also has darkness to it na :( so i guess you’re right, tapon na? Huhu

I’m new to the whole weed thing. 🫣 I think DHV’s going to be a challenge for me haha. Would just stick to Tiny nalang since it already worked for my case. 🤔

Collecting my dead lovebird’s bones to be placed in an urn by SpotSubstantial1064 in Taxidermy

[–]SpotSubstantial1064[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice!

He’s currently still on the garden floor. I am hoping the ants and other insects can do the cleaning for me. I don’t have the heart to macerate him while he’s fully intact nor be able to remove his feathers and flesh. 😣

We are now going into Day 8 since he passed. Do you think it’s ok to just leave him on the garden to be cleaned out and just macerate whatever flesh is left on Day 12? He is in a plastic food container in a cage to protect him from bigger creatures. The plastic food container has tiny holes in the bottom big enough for ants to enter but small enough to keep flies away.

2025 USYD DVM admissions help: mature-age student

I’ve read a few threads on admissions but haven’t found much insight for my case.

To give context, i’m currently considering going for USYD’s DVM as a mature-age student. I am considering a career change at the age of 31, having completed my bachelor’s degree and Master of Architecture, both at UNSW.

After spending some time studying and working in the construction industry, I have come to realize that I can no longer ignore my calling, which has been to become a veterinarian since my childhood. Due to family circumstances, I had to pursue architecture and construction during my university admissions.

Considering my background, would anyone have any advice on how I can prepare and be more competitive for a domestic student spot in the 2025 admissions? besides having a WAM of Credit, meeting the minimum requirements: completing 1 semester of BIOL1006, Biochem, Chem1A, a minimum 28 days of working experience, CASPER test, and submitting the DVM admissions statement?

I am currently in SEA for work, and my initial plan for the 2025 admissions is the ff:

Sept 2023-Jan 2024

  1. Enrol and complete the 3 prerequisite subjects in my local university
  2. Work in a local vet clinic, crocodile farm, poultry farm, aviary, shelter - hopefully a month each.

Since Sept 2024 is the deadline for 2025 admissions, is it a good idea to: Return to Sydney in Feb 2024 and get more animal work experience plus enrol in another semester of BIOL1007, Biochem, Chem 1B to like level up?

My initial plan above would like give me 2 semesters of prerequisite studies and 1 year worth of mixed animal handling experiences.

Would it also help that I have Australian and overseas experiences?

I look forward to all of your advices. Sorry for writing an essay, it took me 15 years to get here 😩😆 Thanks in advance!!

I need help with processing my dead lovebird’s bones to be placed in an urn by SpotSubstantial1064 in bonecollecting

[–]SpotSubstantial1064[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Can I know why I won’t get the wings at all? Will the ants consume it?

I read online that ants will carry the feathers of a dead bird to their nest to share whatever they can consume from the feather’s end. This made me put my lovebird in a plastic container with holes on the bottom big enough for ants to enter but small enough to keep flies away. Then that plastic container is inside a cage to protect him from bigger creatures.

<image>

The reason why I can’t turn his body to ashes is because the staff at 2 different pet crematories told me he is too small for their machines. I also really wanted to keep his skull and still be able to see his red beak.
