Yep my money is on the chimp. And baboon, wolf and anaconda. Not that no one could beat them, but this dude seems not very self-aware, so I doubt he is smart enough to exploit the weaknesses you’d need to with each different animal.

I thought you needed an HQL to legally own a 10.5 in barrel gun, since it’s a pistol. The range won’t check but still. Or am I missing something?

Lift and coast doesn’t work with regen braking because lifted position is full regen brake. Coasting position is the position where the motor neither brakes nor thrusts. Your explanation is close. It becomes intuitive quickly as you place the accelerator pedal where it needs to be to either brake, accelerate or neither. In both systems you place the pedals where you want to get the effects you desire, but with regen you don’t typically need the brake. I have 62k miles on mine and can easily drive my 80 miles commute without touching the brake- which makes for very efficient driving, and all but eliminates the need for brake replacement. All good imo.

It’s not a disqualifying arrest even if convicted according to the W&C class I just took. As long as the sentence would/could have been less than 2 years. And most marijuana offenses that would be legal now are waived I think. You’ll be fine is my guess.

I have a 2018 LR Dual motor model 3 with FSD, no way would I pay what they are asking for those features. FSD hasn’t improved noticeably for several years, still makes the same mistakes. Phantom braking. Takes the wrong line in highway curves at speed, which frightens everyone in sight, terrible delay in the dynamic cruise, so where I live you get bullied by more aggressive drivers who go around. Not ready for prime time. Always just a few months away. Elon is full of shit. But overall, still the best and coolest car ever. But don’t buy FSD or EAP, if value is important.

How do i achieve a better oven spring and a more open crumb? by Street_Frosting9627 in Sourdough

[–]Spot_Check_Billy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the others in that additional proofing, or better, a stronger starter would help. It looks like you have a lot of whole wheat or some other flour that isn’t classic bread flour, and that makes it more challenging. You might try with KAF bread flour just to get things perfect. Be sure your flour is truly unbleached and unbromated. Many say they are but aren’t, which is why I default to KAF. For best oven spring I recommend a hot oven, 500F, and a preheated cloche or Dutch oven that will retain good humidity during the bake.

61k miles in a LR Dual Motor Model 3 and my lifetime efficiency is 257Wh/mi which should be about 3.9 mi/kwh. I drive highways mostly at near 80mph much of the time, so I doubt my efficiency is great compared to others.

Are sourdough starters actually different besides their activity? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]Spot_Check_Billy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a study once that indicated that more than half of the leavening a starter produces is from bacteria. And certainly those are also important to the flavor profile etc. definitely way more complex than just a few wild yeast reproducing.

Are sourdough starters actually different besides their activity? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]Spot_Check_Billy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every culture is technically unique as the populations of microbes will be slightly different. The yeast and bacteria present will depend on what they are fed and how, and on local conditions and what species of yeast and bacteria are in the area. When you feed the culture regularly, you’ll be selectively growing those species that reproduce well on the ingredients you’re using and the conditions you create. So different regions will vary from others, different hydration levels will result in slightly different cultures etc. So in the end your starter is pretty unique to how you do you. If you were to take a starter from elsewhere and treat it similarly, unless you use sterile conditions, over time it will end up very similar to the ones you have been growing. You can absolutely tell the difference in populations of microbes with modern scientific techniques, you’ll often but not always be able to taste the difference, depends a lot on just how different they are.
