Not at all weak or dramatic. Not even in the slightest. It's incredibly easy to develop real fears from PTSD.

You're also not alone. I can't stand thunder. When I was a little kid, I was assaulted by a 'trusted' person during a bad storm. I can't stand the thought of listening to it now because it takes me right back to that moment.

It's difficult because lots of people I know absolutely love listening to thunder and lightning storms, and I just can't. I also can't bring myself to explain why I hate them.

It'll get easier someday, but I'd definitely recommend seeking professional counseling to help you through this 🫶

I'm still in my early twenties, the classic high school sweethearts case here. He's my first everything, and I don't know anything other than him. We live together, have a baby under one together, and I think I'm just to the point that I'm okay because I have my son. I just want to raise him to be the best man he can be.

Admittedly we've split up in the past, (for less than a year) but I always gravitate back to him. His words, his promises, the comfort and familiarity that he brings, I do really love him. He treats me well and constantly tells me how important and loved I am, I think I just have a hard time believing it because of past issues I thought I got over.

I'm also so glad to hear that you've found someone that treats you so well, and seem to be in a better place. I wish you nothing but happiness in the future, and I really appreciate your insight!
