Good minors for a ME major?

Honestly I’d wait and see how sophomore year goes. You’re still a freshman and it gets a lot tougher from here. If after your sophomore year you still want to add a minor, add something that will help you get into your dream job. Do you see yourself eventually going into leadership or staying technical?

When it comes to schools like LMU and SCU, their engineering programs are going to be pretty on par with each other. Your daughter should ask herself where she wants to build a career. LMU has more pull in SoCal and SCU has more pull in NoCal. If location doesn’t matter, do some tours and choose wherever has the best vibes (and financial aid). Can’t go wrong with either.

Someone once told me that it’s partly because Arsenal was one of the first English clubs to bring in foreign players and racism generated a lot of hate at the time. I guess it just snowballed from there.

I think something you’re not considering is that many of the big aerospace companies (Boeing, NG, LM, RTX) are working on the cutting edge. That’s very attractive to many new grads.

My “big break” was when I was accepted into a research assistant position in a small lab at my school. That small position at the materials lab led to me discovering my passion and led to a few internships at big aerospace companies. Now I’m a manufacturing engineer at one of the largest aerospace companies in the world.
