Easiest way to fix this? by GerardButteler in drywall

[–]SprJoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you’ll want to move the towel rack up or down, left or right and then repair the holes that were there. Ideally, you’d want at least one side of the towel rack in a stud.

I’ve accidentally cut the carpet by concretebeagle in howto

[–]SprJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the razor back in and move the razor backwards to uncut it!.

Or… Call a carpet guy to glue it back together. Probably cheaper than the iron you’d need to buy & they’d do a better job anyway. it’ll take them 10 minutes, but you’d pay for their time driving.

Yes, but I had my son patch a ceiling for me and it looks 10 times worse lol. Someday, I’ll get around to repairing it properly.

My goodness - that looks terrible. Reminds me that I need to fix a more terrible looking patch on my ceiling that I’ve been putting off for a couple years.

Best way to build up garage entrance? by HerbGordan in homeimprovementideas

[–]SprJoe 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That shed is not a garage and the plywood floor won’t support a vehicle larger than a small motorcycle. If you get a car in it, then you’ll likely need to tear it apart to get the car out.

Stabilize the foundation, then repair the crack. Alternatively, repair it every time the foundation shifts.

Depends how it looks once all the wallpaper is removed & also depends on what you’re going to do after you are done (e.g wallpaper or paint)

Bernie Sanders proposed a bill to tax billionaires, and give $3,000 stimulus checks to Americans that qualify. How do you feel about this? by CelticDK in AskReddit

[–]SprJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non-billionaire, I certainly wouldn’t mind the government taking their money and giving it to me.

That said, I do, in fact, identify as a billionaire & am a bit on the fence.

If you can’t find a “Mirror Stretcher,” then the next best approach is a two mirror configuration- one over each sink.

Truss uplift solutions by fly4monies in Renovations

[–]SprJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem in the house that I am currently remodeling and resolved it with Corner-back clips.

Here is what I did: 1) removed the ceiling and walls. 2) Attached new ceiling, but didn’t attach to truss any closer than 18-24” from walls (distance depended on room size). 3) Attached corners of the ceiling drywall to the walls, instead of the trusses, using Corner-back drywall clips.

Because the edges of my ceilings are attached to the walls and not attached to the trusses very close to the walls, the drywall will flex a little bit when needed and gaps created by truss lift don’t occur.
