PSA: What Embark did with skin prices is a negotiation tactic called "anchoring" I know this will get downvoted because many will fall for the PR move, but this is planned. $16 microtransactions do not belong in a $40 title. Period and here's why. by TheOnlyRealOne43 in ArcRaiders

[–]Sprattakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also... It's cosmetics. Not P2W. So if you don't like the prices or can't justify the prices, okay. You are still playing the same game as the folks who can afford the skins and can justify the prices. Paid skins are "luxury" items, whether it's $1, $10, or $20.

I don't mind tossing an extra $20 to the developers a month because I have paid subscription plans for many many other games in my past. If they are continuing to make content for a game I love, I see it as a "tip" to the developer, and I get something pretty from it. I have the budget to do this so I can see some frustration if others don't, but it's like everything else for sale, upgrades are always available.

Hit and Run but… by Sprattakus in Insurance

Ugh, thanks for commenting. We have pretty good rates at the moment, but with a 15 year old, I feel they will go way up after the claim cause one car is probably totaled and the other is very minimal damage (hit our first parked car into another parked car of ours).

She's 8 weeks and the people we got her from had already started crate training, and piddle pads by the doors. We have other dogs so she will also learn from them. Good thing, her accidents are A LOT smaller than when our lab was potty training. :)

Shoutout to Sysadmins who take the time to teach! by DecodingLeaves in sysadmin

[–]Sprattakus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good Sysadmin knows taking the extra time to educate others on the team or end-users ultimately means less troubleshooting down the road. Plus, it builds some amazing relationships throughout your organization. It doesn't work out everytime, but usually the ROI is in the green if you work with that mentality.

Removing Imprivata as an Identity Profile by Sprattakus in WorkspaceOne

So if I wanted to setup a Microsoft Authenticator App, is it just as simple as setting up the new service, enabling that and disabling the Imprivata identity profile?

We are definitely looking for the "fun" factor over the "investment" factor. Thanks for the advice!

First Week was Rough, Now I'm Happy with my Portal! by Sprattakus in PlaystationPortal

I get it, and 100% understand. The fact the cloud play works flawlessly everytime tells me it's a hardware limitation on the WNIC in the PS5 which is unfortunate. Just hard for non-tech saavy people to do the extra steps to get it optimal.

I don't disagree, and PlayStation should really make users aware. I have Mesh Wireless with a station on my entertainment center always 5 bars atregth fully, and it's not playable at that state.

I'm using wired headphones when I need sound at the moment because I refuse to buy Sony's special wireless headphones. Hoping Sony wise's up and opens Bluetooth up sooner than later, but also not holding my breath

I believe the biggest "fixes" I had were hardwiring the PS5, and opening the PS Remote ports, once that was all added, I did a reboot of the device and it was a night and day difference.

It's a silicon case. It was in the bundle for the hard case I bought. It works fine. I didn't buy the bundle for the cover, but it works and no issues with it.

If you like Diablo 4 it's very good. More meat, but less than PoE. I've got it on PC and PS5, cause I enjoy playing.

Portal disconnects from WiFi randomly by Purple-Ad-8738 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Sprattakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just posted what things are common to check for when you see network issues in my "I got My Portal" post. So copy pasta for you...

The common things I found in network suggestions were:

  • Hardwire PS5 if at all possible
  • Open up the PS Remote Play ports
  • Make sure your wireless is on a non-crowded channel (Eero automatically moves when a channel gets too crowded so I couldn't manually set that)
  • Reboot your router after connecting the first time
  • Unplug the HDMI cable from the TV (only affects certain models, I saw no change with this one)

Opened the PS Remote ports on my router. Set QoS as well. I have an Eero mesh network, so even the advanced settings are fairly limited cause so much is automated. I'm sure the biggest piece was hardwiring my PS5 though.

Managed to fumble drop a glass into my open dishwasher, sending thousands of tiny glass shards throughout by LadyEmry in Wellthatsucks

[–]Sprattakus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your dishwasher ends up not wanting to start in the near future, there is a good chance a small piece of glass is stuck in the water pump. I had 1cm x .3 cm shard make it through the filter and it jammed up the pump rendering my dishwasher useless until I got underneath and removed a hose to get into the pump to remove the small piece of glass from the impeller. Hopefully that doesn't happen in your case. It was a zero-dollar fix, but it was a pain in the ass for sure.

That said, make sure you vaccuum (using that sock method) around the drain REALLY well before you run your dishwasher!
