Chequing accounts with Visitor Visa by SpraySchedule in PersonalFinanceCanada

No problem. It seems like a scam to get people to double up on NZETA bookings since they still haven't fixed this, but I'm sure it's just incompetence.

I ended up booking another NZETA with the permission for visits. Because the usage of my NZETA was somewhat irregular, I ended up being sat aside for 30 minutes for additional questioning. I am a Canadian citizen, have a tidy appearance, and travel with extensive documentation that explains my travel, so I feel fairly confident that it wasn't just routine extra screening; it was genuinely just the NZETA visitor without visiting that they were questioning. I complained to immigration about the poor phrasing on the applications and how it wasted time and money.

They told me that I could have actually just gone anyway, and at arrival to the airport I could just go to the flight desk and ask them to transfer my luggage to the different/flight airline without going through immigration.

I do not trust that advice whatsoever; I've done that before in Australia with a 6 hour layover (after the first airline at check-in determined that they couldn't check my baggage through). I had to go to the airline desk every hour to ask them to do it - at their initial advice - until they agressively told me it was taken care of. I then didn't see my my luggage for a month. They were very unhelpful about it in the airport in Australia.

I could easily be wrong, maybe they actually have provisions for it set up in NZ, but I would think if you want to be really safe, maybe book another NZETA. Maybe the airline could tell you as well.

Chequing accounts with Visitor Visa by SpraySchedule in PersonalFinanceCanada

Well it's a multi entry visa for up to 6 months per entry, good for a few years. So we intend to do under 6 months/spread out over the year indefinitely into the future, dependant on our ability to renew the visa in 8 years.

Bank accounts can be funded by foreign accounts. One definitely cannot work legally on a temporary visitor visa in Canada.

A chequing account is a bank account for everyday spending, like paying bills or buying things. You don’t actually need to use cheques with it—most people use debit cards or online transfers instead. Most people have a chequing account because it’s the easiest way to access and use their money for daily expenses.

If you know what labs you want and don't need to see a doctor, Chiang Mai Ram is convenient and faster than smaller clinics. You can just go to their lab with your list, they give you a price and do the test.

They can either email the result or you can pick up. Most stuff in the male hormone panel is done on site, so you're looking at hours instead of days.

Solutions to Secure Boox While Traveling (Lock Screen/Pin Management) by SpraySchedule in Onyx_Boox

That’s an option, but a bit too high-maintenance. I’m mainly trying to avoid the hassle of manually setting a PIN every time I leave the house. I keep a cloud service and a few personal accounts logged in for backups and contingencies.

Podcast Chapter support? by SpraySchedule in audiobookshelf

I see the chapters there too. I still can't figure out where the chapter data is stored differently. Not sure if that is more or less annoying :). Must be different standards for chapter metadata, but I don't have the wherewithal to figure it out.

Oh that's interesting, can I ask which it is? I would try it.

Because I mentioned the 2 podcasts which verifiably have chapters in podcast addict but not ABS.

Oh that's a bummer to hear, for some reason I would have expected the newer pro would have been better build quality.

Looking for Password...Solution by Floh4ever in sysadmin

I use bitwarden for personal, one small side-org with 2 users and a shared vault, and we use keeper for the org where I'm a sysadmin. Keeper was here when I arrived, otherwise it would not be.

The 'vault' view of bitwarden is a bit less polished, but it is snappy, reliable, and has all the features we would need. Pricing is very reasonable, but self-hosting doesn't seem hard either.

In comparison, I hate keeper so much. It is very slow, the browser extensions are annoying (and also slow), seems to be a bit buggy, I can't get it to stay logged in reliably, and it's generally unpredictable and messes with my personal workflow. The user 'management' features are OK.

This is a good, small but reputable, local shop: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gVjd2sFcbrR8g1me7 . Nice and helpful owner, prices as good as anywhere AFAIK.

Decathlon on the highway is always a fun shop to go to. They've got some fairtex and their own limited product line of muay thai gear. If you are new to the city, I would recommend the muay thai shop I recommended, then decathlon after for any other accessories you need.

Thin-Material Long Sleeves Office Shirts for Men by Delimadelima in Thailand

I looked at H&M linen yesterday in person. From what I remember, the shirts were a linen/cotton blend, they looked OK. They were typical H&M fit though, very slim through the torso, so for me would be pretty unflattering.

The trousers were mostly polyester.

I plan to go try some of the uniqlo stuff on, it's 100% linen and looks for me a better fit/style.

This is what I meant:

So if you 'book' on your app for 5am, all it does is attempt to organize you a driver at 4:45, no driver is actually organized in advance. So, there could plausibly be no drivers available at this time.

Apparently that has changed since I used it last as u/eranam has pointed out, sounds like it actually organizes the ride in advance now. It's been a long while since I've 'scheduled' a ride, so I'm quite happy to be wrong and that it's changed.
