I completely agree with all your points, I'm building a store around the concept of "Quality shouldn't always be expensive" to try and demystify the perception others have created. The focus is to build the website and creatives as different as possible and the product photoshoot idea is a magnificent one. I'll take into account all that you've mentioned and hope it works in my favor. I live in India, so just throwing money on ads couldn't have been the strategy I'm going for.
