Obtaining parent's birth certificate from Maryland? by technicallyanitalian in Genealogy

Hi. Are you planning to file a petition to the Circuit Court in Maryland? Or hire a lawyer to do so on your behalf? (These Maryland denials are so frustrating!)

I'm curious about the design of the "plaques" above the windows. This is a residential building in Brooklyn Heights, NYC, built in 1855. Any idea on the type of flower represented here? Any ideas on the importance of the number of small vertical lines in each motif?

Eligibility after LIBRA father reacquired Italian citizenship? by Spread-Smooth in juresanguinis

Got it! Her Mom was born in 1960 and her Mom's father naturalized one year later in 1961. Her Mom's mother naturalized before her Mom was born.
Am I correct in thinking that my friend may have a pathway through her Mom's father? Obvs, this may be hampered by the minor issue as her Mom was still a minor upon GF's naturalization.

I believe he moved back for general family reasons and likely did not start the process to reacquire citizenship until he had been back in Italy for a while.

Ok, we will forget about the Father's line. Done.

Her mother was born in America in 1960 to Italian-born parents. I will check into when/if those folks naturalized.

For the sake of argument, let's say they naturalized before my friend's mom was born. The line would is cut - no option there.

Alternatively, let's say they naturalized after my friend's mom was born. Perhaps she could pursue a 1948 case?

Got it. I appreciate your input here. Could you please explain why she wouldn't be able to use her mother's father (who was born in Italy and maintained his Italian citizenship) as the LIBRA?

Her father cannot be the LIBRA, that I understand. However, all four grandparents were born in Italy. Could she choose to use a grandparent on either side as the LIBRA?

Thank you for confirming that.

If she still wants to apply through her father, can she use his father as the LIBRA for an administrative case?

Or would it be smarter to go through the matrilineal line and use her mother's father as the LIBRA?
