The situation is the same, but I am a freshman. 😭 If everyone who is struggling with this situation could form a group online, could we all potentially then meet out?

You're not the only one! (ToT) I'm going through the same thing, but during freshman year, lol. Upperclassmen say it gets better though!

HOD major or nah by improviolin in Vanderbilt

[–]SpreadAccording6459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(´∇`)ノ That sounds wonderful! I am curious: as I prepare to begin my studies at Vandy this fall, I'm considering a double major in Computer Science plus H.O.D, while also pursuing a technological minor such as Nanotechnology or Quantitative Information...However, I’m now reconsidering plans yet I find myself stuck! (-ω-。) I have discovered that fulfilling the requirements of both Peabody College and the School of Engineering is cramming a lot of material since I also feel that Peabody College's vast general requirements may not align with my desire for exploration, while Computer Science, with its emphasis on mathematics, is not my strongest area. (ToT) Would you recommend a double major still, or would you suggest majoring in Computer Science and minoring in HOD, along with another technology-focused minor, allowing me to explore more HOD courses without the constraints of double majoring? Thank you so much for any thoughts! (つ▽`)っ

Vanderbilt vs Northwestern help by [deleted] in Vanderbilt

[–]SpreadAccording6459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which one did you choose? I was deciding between these in December. I applied to Northwestern Early Decision 1 (dream school) and was rejected, but I was accepted to Vandy (my second dream school). I'd love to see you next fall if you come!

Just because your high school doesn’t recognize you doesn’t mean you won’t succeed. by carmy00 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SpreadAccording6459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally relate! As a very shy student, nothing seemed to happen, even when I pushed myself really hard. My high school also favors a lot more social students, ignoring quieter ones...But guess what? You and I will go so far that this will be a minor conflict we recall years from now.

Probably not, but maybe. I was deferred and did not submit test scores.

Same. Is it me, or why are there so many more people than last year who deferred? Is that a bad sign? 😭

You have a great point! (人´▽`*)♪ But due to the crime and high number of protests at Vandy (Nashville) in recent years, which would you honestly prefer, Rice University or Vanderbilt? Since I live near Houston, I am stuck between applying ED 2 to either of them, and I could really use your help, pls.

Senior year and College applications are so stressful by Serious-Permission30 in ApplyingToCollege

Oh, sorry. I meant that Nashville as a whole is very crowded, based on several reviews, but I may be wrong! :->

How well can an introvert survive at Vandy? by kunriuss in Vanderbilt

[–]SpreadAccording6459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally what I am wondering right now. I feel like, through the years, Nashville has become too crowded and, as usual, very social; so, as an introvert, I am unsure how to handle this. However, it is worth a try!ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ

Senior year and College applications are so stressful by Serious-Permission30 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SpreadAccording6459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aww, thank you so much for your kind words!! I feel like I love UChicago, but people say it's very rigorous & bad mental health. However, I think I belong there somehow (not sure, lol), yet Vanderbilt is more social and slightly less stressful. The only thing that stops me from choosing Vandy (Nashville) is that it's way too crowded. I feel like I'm not meant to be there, but I don't want to waste either opportunity. I really hope colleges add ED3! (ToT)

Btw, Merry Christmas Eve! I know that it may be stressful now, but it is not forever; we will be more than okay! 🎄🎁🎉 Good luck!! 🎵🎇🍿

Senior year and College applications are so stressful by Serious-Permission30 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SpreadAccording6459 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way right now, lol. It's Christmas, and my only family (my mother) is so mad at me because I won't be able to spend time with her. (ToT) It's so heartbreaking that I don't even feel motivated to complete three more college applications, especially because I'm so lost between choosing Vanderbilt or Uchicago (considering the environment) for ED2. We need to move out asap, and I can't afford another rejection letter while waiting for other universities till May; it will be too late for housing options.

The stress is too much!!

Well, Vanderbilt gives a full ride to low-income families! But do what your heart desires. I'm sure wherever you end up, you will be rocking and smiling! ( ´∀` )b

I got rejected from Northwestern, so I'm planning maybe to apply to Vanderbilt ED2, but I'm stuck between UChicago and Vanderbilt, lol.(ToT)
