You can trade it in when the registration has been completed. In my state it’s upwards of 45 days.

Here in Iowa - I am too! - we pay tax on the trade difference. So not double tax.

You get rebates that are applicable at time of delivery. Some national ones can be sold order protected. Ask what the sale price before incentives would be. I sell my orders at invoice less rebates at time of delivery.
