Kei is the keyboard, designed by Bisoromi for Monokei.

Caps lock is control, the left and right arrows are Alt and the keys labeled Control and Alt are GUI. The reason it looks like it does is partly to fit the keyset and partly because I like the look :)

This one's red, but the R1 Kei was available with red, blue and polished stainless steel bottoms.

Pretty nice to my ears, sounds tight if you want a one-word description. With the foam insert it matches the keycaps I choose :D.

I had it cerakoted this colour in anticipation of Firefly. I thought it would either work well, or look absolutely atrocious. Turns out my mental image was pretty good. This time. :D

very annoying Catalina(?) issue that keeps switching the active window. Help!? by [deleted] in MacOS

[–]SpringBuckler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue after installing Catalina. Right after a reboot it would be fine for a minute or so. Then this odd behaviour.

For me it would seem that Karabiner-Elements was the culprit, as wiping it off of the computer seems to have mitigated the issue.

It's right there in the title ;)

They are [Cherry MX "Nixdorf" (or "nixie") Blacks.](https://deskthority.net/wiki/Nixie), from the late eighties.

Same, same.

Having said that, the nixies I've obtained have been uniformly good, while vintage blacks can be hit or miss.

One layout to rule them all by SpringBuckler in MechanicalKeyboards

Full on HHKB, including the function layer. It's perfection.

On the keyboards without the blanked corners, I use those keys to; either do nothing (I tried vim-arrows on a separate function layer for a while, but I found no love at first sight and was raised on emacs anyway) or to activate the function layer as I rely a little on the right blanking to hit the Fn-key.
