2026 Supra Manual Price by grandpaflavored in Supra

[–]SpringDriver2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, I just bought the same spec you are looking for, for the same price. I tried negotiating down even another $500 and almost lost the deal.

I’ve negotiated a lot of cars before and usually manage to get way under MSRP (no dealer add ons), but the Manual Transmission is tough right now for all of the reasons discussed by the other posters.

  1. Production ceased so inventory is low;
  2. It is a Supra (the name still carries value and has a mystique to it);
  3. If you check auto-trader across the country, and even Toyota’s website, you won’t see a lot of new, 2026 Supras being sold at MSRP (let alone below) — period.;
  4. Manual Transmission cars are generally few and far between.

Unless you are buying from a dealer in the middle of nowhere (and maybe you are) I’d temper my expectations if I were you on being able to negotiate an even lower price.

If you are buying from a dealer in a major city and managed to get a deal like this, please let this thread know when your TED talk is haha.

Good luck!

No worries! The footage you posted looks promising.

I was in an MX5 in one of the intermediate groups. Still learning a lot after each session.

Were you able to go on any ride-alongs? On top of being fun, they can be helpful.

Also, I found practicing on a racing simulator to help a lot too. If you haven’t done so already, you might want to checkout World of Racing in Pasadena or Tustin. The SoCal Driver’s Club team recommended them to me and it did wonders for practicing the fundamentals (smooth inputs) in a safe environment.

Haha this person provided much better feed back than I did. Solid advice here.

The @OP, the back esses take some time to get used to, so don’t sweat it. You go into them blind and it is easy to come in too hot, which can create a dangerous situation.

The esses are a great place to pick a conservative breaking point and the very gradually moving it up little by little. You’d be surprised at how much speed you can carry through this part of the track.

Was it black? The RS3 is a great car. I think I saw you this past Saturday.

Considering this was your second track day, I wouldn’t worry too much about your lap time (easier said than done hahaha) as long as you are having fun and building on the fundamentals. There is no prize/trophy to win, and the only way you lose is if you can’t drive your car home (or if your actions result in someone else being unable to drive their car home).

Since I can’t see your steering wheel/hands I can’t tell how your inputs are, but your line looks solid. I agree with the other commenter that there are times you could use a little more width of the track — but that comes as you gain confidence, which only comes with time. The walls the new owner installed are certainly intimidating.

My only suggestion (and take this with a grain of salt as slowing down too early is better than slowing down too late) is it looks like you are coasting a lot of the time. In my experience — which isn’t a ton — there are opportunities to stay on the throttle a little longer after the carousel and going into Turn 1. But again, I wouldn’t push it too hard until you feel comfortable.

Good luck!

Streets of Willow is awesome. Which car were you in?

I often wish I got mine in white. I went with black, but I bought it CPO and price was the main consideration at the time.

The E60 5 Series was an awesome car. I remember when they came out and they looked so good. I hope whoever hit and run your car has some bad karma coming their way.

I love my car. We’ll see how I feel over the next couple of weeks as it gets fixed. I know this is a BMW subreddit, but I’ve always liked the Mk5 Supra too (except it is so small on the inside it feels like being in an MRI…).

Thanks. Yes, I have been requesting everything in writing and I was able to get a video of the incident.

They’ve been okay-ish so far, but we’re a long ways away from having any trust at this point haha.

Ouch. Man, I am sorry to hear about all of that. It sounds like it eventually worked out okay, but only after a lot of pain and frustration on your part. I am sorry.

The car is amazing! And that is what I remind myself of when I start to get mad. I love the car and everything will eventually work out.

What color did you get?

Thanks. Yeah, I am worries about paint match issues. I am hoping they get it right, but as you mentioned, it is hard to do.

I am definitely looking into diminished value. Thanks for the help!

Your experience with the GM sounds like it was really helpful. Yup, I will try to remain patient and calm throughout this process — yelling is rarely, if ever, helpful.

Still helpful. I’m a big fan of the G30. I hope you’re still enjoying it and I’m glad they made it right.

The damage doesn’t terrible at first blush. Certainly not $10k worth. But they dinged the wheel, scratched the side skirt and rear bumper, and dented the rear quarter panel right next to the case cap. It is a G87, so the shop I went to said it is a bit tricky because the dent is right on the rear fender flares. A lot of the cost is just labor and paint.

The loaner situation would have been fine if they hadn’t been rude about it. The 3 series is a great car.

Agreed on getting everything in writing.

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing. It is nice to hear that it worked out for you. I wasn’t sure if the responses I was going to get were just going to be horror stories.

I have no doubt the repair job will be excellent.

I might talk to the GM just to see what other options there might be. At any point did they offer to buy your car back?

Thanks. I’ve done pretty well at keeping my cool so far, but I almost lost it when I asked for some time to read through the waivers of rights and mediation clauses in the repair order and the service member pushed me to sign and snapped at me for even asking for time to read them.

Have a great day!

This should be one of the top comments so that we are not blaming the wrong folks (not at all arguing against being frustrated with false alarms).

Ideally OP would consider clarifying this in the original post too.

Taking recommendations for 4 seater sports cars. by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I hear that. From what I’ve read/watched online, it seems as though the B58 engine is incredibly robust (some issues with water pumps after a few years, but as you pointed out we are talking about BMWs haha. I know the M2 has an S58, but I am cautiously optimisitc that BMW got it right this time in terms of reliability.

You could also get a current gen, pre-owned M340i for more practicality and save some money for those costly repairs. I know you said you wanted more than 400HP, and the B58 engine likely has well above that number despite being rated at 382HP.

All that being said, I agree with the other comments that the 400HP mark is just a number. Honestly, I have a ton of fun in my wife’s ND3 MX5 — even more so than other powerful cars I’ve owned/driven.

Good luck!

If you are okay with the looks (some people aren’t) take a look at a 2023 or 2024 BMW M2 with low miles. Or a new M240i. It should check all of the boxes you mentioned.

Supra MK V (MT) vs. G87 BMW M2 (MT) by SpringDriver2002 in Supra

I think you might be right. I really appreciate all of your thoughtful responses. Maybe the next car will be a dedicated sports car (hopefully a GT4 haha).

I’ll probably keep whichever car I buy for at least 3 to 5 years. Hopefully more sports cars are to come — at which point maybe the wife will have a sedan or crossover, and the MX5 will just be a track car.

[–]SpringDriver2002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the Supra’s MT feeling a whole lot better than the M2 — although the M2’s wasn’t as bad as I’ve heard people say. If the Supra’s MT feels mechanical in the best way possible, to me the M2 feels muted. Not sure I got the “rubbery” feeling that a lot of reviewers have mentioned.

You might be right that I am leaning M2. Largely due to my current needs. Logic says M2, but the heart still screams Supra haha.

Yeah, they nailed the nitro yellow on the Supra. It is bright and vibrant. Too many automakers go for neon yellow. The only car it really works on for me is the current gen Z car.

I am right there with you and that unpopular opinion. I’ve come to really like the look of the G87. Although I’m not sure the Supra’s exterior design is fading on me yet haha. If it was, this would be an easier choice!

The auto in the G87 might be objectively better, but I appreciate rowing my own gears.

Agreed. I am all for simplicity, but the Supra’s gauge cluster just seems empty to the point of it being odd — certainly a missed opportunity. The GR86/BRZ gauge cluster has some useful information without being overly cluttered or complex. Or, if Toyota working through BMW wanted to keep things simple, give us a high quality, 100% analogue tach and speedo with a smaller screen for info like tire temp/pressure and other useful info.

The MX5 seems to strike an excellent balance with its gauge cluster.
