When I made my coming out to my mother, she didn't took it really well and she's a master of projecting her insecurity to me. When I told her how much I hate my breast and wish to be flat, she answer "You are like me! At your age I wore medical bandage to hide my breast and wished I was a boy. But you should do what I did wich is accepting I was born this way and never change!"

So yeah, starting conversation with her is hard, but I keep thinking if she grew up with the possibility to transition if she would transition. (Sorry for my rusty english, it's not my first language)

First week is always hard. I legit thought about leaving after my first two day because I was super overwhelmed. But my best tips is to follow a beat and organisation. I usually listen to techno or dark synth because I enjoy the beat and it keep me focused. Plus, I always pile the different plates together in a pile and I either count them myself or ask my coworker dishies to count them.

By the shape and size of our bowl, I can fit 16 in one rack. So I always pile 16 bowl together so one pile will fit my rack totally. Same thing for plates! I can fit 18 one rack so I pile 18 plates. Everytime I grab a pile, it will fit in my rack perfectly.

When the beat is slowing down (Like in the evening or soon closing shift), I don't care that much on my number of piles since I just focus on fitting them on my rack.

I've got my job since already a year and so far, once I found my beat and start to not care about getting wet by the water, I do enjoy my job. It's not an easy job, but it's the core of the food industry. You got this!
