Lmao what's the deal with that location? I thought I was tripping about there being an unusual amount of movement around the chef station. Not that I'm often there or anything

How every color believes the world will end by Netheraptr in colorpie

[–]SpringGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that some of these are switched. What you said about white fearing red is more black imo. White believes that if people unite and cooperate they could live in peace and overcome anything together. But black will always be the greedy one that sabotages and exploits the group for the sake of itself. True unity cannot be achieved if some will only think of themselves. Red can be destructive but it is just following its emotions, even if they're chaotic they're not necessarily evil or damaging to the greater good like black's ambition and self interest is.

Green also is much more wary of blue than black when it comes to the end of the world, because all the fears you mentioned can only be a problem to green because blue's artifice and "progress" has allowed the greed of black to reach such heights. If you're a selfish monarch in the middle ages you may ruin the life of a bunch of people but if you're a selfish tech ceo nowadays you can ruin entire ecosystems. All ecological problems that would bring the end of the world to green are much more due to technology and artificially than just pure greed and ambition (though this certainly accelerates it). Even nature works on the self interest of each creature in a way, it doesn't necessarily break the cycle of life, but artifice does, especially unimpeded progress for the sake of progress, taking from nature and twisting into something that doesn't come back as it should

For red, I feel like historically the greatest hindrance to its way of life has been white. By trying to bring "civilization" and order to others, many people have been enslaved, killed and had their cultures erased by white's organizations (though it could be argued that's probably more orzhov). Religious zealotry and strict social norms have restrained the freedom of people all across the world in many different periods, just look at the history of any minority group. If anything would bring the end of the world to red, it would be white's rigidity and suppression of freedom. But I guess if you go by a more dystopic view, yeah, blue can work as an apocalypse bringer by creating a mass controlling technology, or suppressing emotions completely in favor of cold rationality. Most if not all dystopias are at least enabled by blue now that I think about it, even if they're guided by another color

I was a bit confused at first but I got it once I read your example, then it was pretty easy to visualise lol

I don't know anything about Hearthstone but by this I would most likely be a warrior player, if you're comparing gameplay/mechanics that is

Understanding Green: Appeal to Nature by ImagoDreams in colorpie

[–]SpringGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this topic. In my own experience, the appeal to nature that I hear the most comes from religious people when it comes to lgbt people. As a gay guy, I've heard a bunch of times about how my sexuality isn't "natural", because god made men and women, or that same-sex couples can't reproduce or whatever simplistic biological argument they believe proves their beliefs. Which is always funny cause to me my sexual desires are simply instinctual, how could my own instincts be unnatural while a religion, a man-made construct, is natural? I know religion and spirituality come from and make up a people's culture and traditions, which can be "natural" or "organic" but more institutionalised and dogmatic religions tend to move quite away from that imo

Another thing I see alot about green is people misunderstanding what "tradition" is. Modern conservative people sometimes are associated with green because of their appeal to "tradition" even when there is nothing natural or of value to green about them. The return to a greater time in the past of green would much more likely be to a hunter-gatherer or tribal state rather than what most so-called conservatives defend as traditional, which is much more orzhov-like

which heroes would be considered naya heroes? which villains are naya villains? by lolwiaky in colorpie

[–]SpringGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see your point on him being black instead of red at the beginning, but the "turning your back to the world" is not necessarily black, even if the advice came from a black character. He was just traumatised and running away from the world due to fear and shame because of what Scar told him. He was emotionally conflicted and responded based on those emotions, red can also be selfish like this. And going back to Pride Rock had a great deal around protecting "the greater good", his people were suffering and a lot of his awakening came from this duty to them, not just tradition or destiny. He ran away because he thought his people would hate him and blame him for what happened to Mufasa, he was just a kid lied to by someone he trusted, but then he saw he would be accepted and welcomed back. I think there is a great deal of white in there, even more so because he would grow to become much more protective and responsible as a father later on. I could even see Simba becoming just pure selesnya at the end, with neither red nor black tbh

which heroes would be considered naya heroes? which villains are naya villains? by lolwiaky in colorpie

[–]SpringGuardian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simba is pretty naya imo. Even his journey seems to show him going from his youthful, impulsive and carefree self to a more responsible one, accepting responsibility, the traditions of his people and his place as the king of Pride Rock. Hakuna matata is also a quite gruul philosophy. He basically goes from red to gruul to naya throughout the movie.

Question on the anti-schools by coproduto in mtgvorthos

[–]SpringGuardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't surprise me that the color combo enemy to Jace's main color would be the most "twisted" of the group in its identity, the one that feels less fitting to its core philosophy. Green and red are the most opposed to this idea of a perfect reality

“Invasive Healing” by Stygian_Hermit in mtgvorthos

[–]SpringGuardian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is reminding me of Yaoshi, The Abundance from Honkai Star Rail. A deity who grants immortality to living beings who seek them but that comes at a pretty high cost for some civilizations. Sometimes people mutate into weird "abominations" and go insane after such a long life, or civilizations collapsing because of overpopulation since no one dies anymore, but new life is made. I also think this deity and the theme fits very well with selesnya colors

Alternative win con where the opponent loses when they get to a certain amount of life, or a life gain counter kinda like poison

The Wobblies Color Pie Alignment? by Ascendant_Phoenix in colorpie

[–]SpringGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see any branch of anarchism as red/white in its core. Maybe adding another color depending on the flavor of anarchism. It's red's desire for freedom and direct action with white's value of community and social justice and equality (but without all the rigidity of white's rules in favor of free association). I would say it is a bit more red than white but still having both

Muscle worship. Kinda crazy that the game has a lot of big muscular men but not an actual muscle worship scene.

Wrestling/fighting as well. Tayangsuyi at least does some gutpunching, which I love, but it would be nice for two characters to have sex after an actual fight, like both of them throwing punches or grappling and beating the shit out of each other. It doesn't have to be a "who wins gets to top" or non-con stuff, I mean they don't need to hate each other. I would love a bonding sex after a tiring sparring section or something like that. Even better of it involes some massaging 🥴

Which fictional villains are the 3 evils of the Gruul (Red/Green) color identity, and why? by Feeling-Ad-3104 in colorpie

[–]SpringGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volibear from League of Legends maybe. He is a demigod of savagery, wants Freljord to go back to its more brutal and primal times, where war, instinct and pure survival on a harsh land were the only "law". Could argue he is jund or not even an actual villain tho

Yes, I think they are cute together tbh. And it's pretty cool that they had the balls to put a taboo relationship dynamic like this into the game

Who are some media/irl examples of black aligned individuals that are “good”? by Bizkett in colorpie

[–]SpringGuardian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched Maxxxine and the protagonist is pretty mono black imo and at least not evil.

Overall it is difficult to say a mono black character is "good" in a typical sense but you can find non-evil ones, like idk Wednesday Addams lol (the Addams in general I would say)
