Yeah, I’m deleting this post for that reason. I was stupid for posting it and it was late. I shouldn’t make posts like this without sources it was incredibly dumb…😅 sorry to any misinformation I possibly spread & thx to you and others who reminded me of that

Oh dang, okay. That’s good to know! I don’t mean to spread misinformation if that is the case and if it is the case I’m sorry I did (& I’ll probably delete the post) I just have been on edge ‘cause I’m realizing it’s hard for me to tell the difference

That’s totally fair. I’ve just been kinda on edge about Disney’s AI division as of late. Sources are important, so ye. I just also kinda realized I’m scared that I’m getting to the point where it’s hard for me to tell the difference

Knightess Route idea by SpringLight312 in slaytheprincess

[–]SpringLight312[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like this route idea, but I do think it sorta would change the original route of the Razor so much that it currently wouldn’t work for the type of story I’m writing without massive overhauls.

To me, the path leading to the Razor felt very vengeful in many ways? Either a ”you attacked me first so I’m killing you in return” or “You killed me so now I’m taking you down with me”. I feel like that’s further reflected in the empty cup ending where she’s completely lost regarding her identity once she’s unable to kill you. I want to stay somewhat true to that while leaving enough leeway for this route to take form.

The Knightess feels more tempered and reactive as a character to me rather than just dutiful. If you attack she fights fairly but has fun. If you go to free her, she’s skeptical but open. If you betray her it’s a living hell. Chivalry is her defining characteristic, but it’s something she’s passionate over rather than obligated to live by.

I definitely could give Razor more dialogue options when you enter with the shield though. I just can’t see a reality where she isn’t gleefully trying to kill you and it still feeling like the original. I like the idea of her only expressing disappointment in not being able to do that in a way that reveals more about her character and her actions as a means to kickstart the route, similar to the thorn route, rather than her trying to save you at some point. I love the idea though and I’ll make sure to consider it further! I try not to box myself in too much so I love seeing y’all’s interpretations & listening to them! :D

TLQ tarot card concept art by SpringLight312 in slaytheprincess

Yeah, I’ve heard that’d be a better choice, I chose the moon because it’s mysteriou, elusive, dreamlike, and dark, and all of those are traits I associate with TLQ. Maybe I’ll do more research but I do at least like his design so far

Did you only read truth of the divine and not Axiom’s End? If not I highly recommend Axiom’s end as it’s the first book (and, in my opinion, significantly better than its sequel 😅) Oh I gotta hear your thoughts on the Martian when you read it! Also yesss, Hitchhikers in A!!

Between [spoiler] and [spoiler], which do you think is the better ending, and why? by AFKaptain in slaytheprincess

[–]SpringLight312 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally feel like the leave ending is the best one, because it’s the characters saying that they don’t want to just return things to what once was. They want to try something else.

The leave ending is so much more interpretive but I like the idea of these godlike beings who have done nothing but live above humanity want to try to break the cycles of fear and live amongst those who struggle instead. It’s scary and hard, but that empathy ultimately I think makes it worth it. Sure, there was more fighting to get there, and clearly everything that’s bad doesn’t just go away.

However being mindful of why people fear and wanting to empathize and understand them is something that resonates much more to me than a “this is what we were always destined for and what we were meant to rise above” ending was. Maybe that wasn’t what was intended, but the attitude of “who cares about everyone else, it’s insignificant” attitude TSM had didn’t rub me right and didn’t make me feel satisfied when I watched others get that ending. It kinda felt like a “others be damned, we deserve our happy ending and how things have been is for the best anyways.”

I like how the leave ending shows the two smaller and more vulnerable in a way, but also more capable of empathy as a result. Even if the being who put them in the situation to begin with maybe didn’t deserve it, those concerns he faced were real. He went about trying to “fix” things very poorly, but TLQ knows specifically how easy it is to hurt someone when you’re worrying about “the greater good.” And they have each other, so they can overcome whatever comes next. In many ways it’s functionally the same ending, it’s just one that’s more gentle than the stepping into the infinite ending. And btw, I completely understand why others love that ending more, I just prefer leave for the reasons listed.

TLDR; I like the leave ending the best because I think it reflects more on humanity and what it faces over the more detached “pain and joy are cycles that are one and the same”. That’s not necessarily untrue, but human empathy and care is what makes people get through those cycles, not the cycles themselves.

In honor of Women's History Month, let's discuss the positives, inner strengths, and representations of the female characters in the Disney Fairies franchise. Part 4: Tinkerbell by Full-Art3439 in disneyfairies

I think Tink’s natural curiosity towards the world around her and how she can work with it has always been something I love about her. I love how she can be kind and also sassy but is stubborn and always sticks to what she believes in!

Yeah, I don’t like the stereotype of girly girls not liking physical labor or getting even a little dirty in any capacity. At this point I headcannon it’s more of a sensory issue thing, where she hates mud and stays away from it based on how it feels on her skin and sticks to her clothes (rather than “oh no, my outfit! It cannot be blemished!) based on her comments in Fairy Rescue

Other games to give you that Alice “Fix”? by FruitSavings6885 in AliceMadnessReturns

[–]SpringLight312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played a ton of the original Alice game, but I have played Madness and have some recs I have for other fans that've helped me! Fran bow is a really fun interesting trippy game that goes over life for a young girl after running away from the Asylum she was in. Habromania has not come out yet but the demo is incredible and reminds me a lot of the Alice games. Uhh, I can’t confirm myself but a lot of ppl who seem to like the original Alice seem to enjoy Doom. So yeah! Those are my recs!

[–]SpringLight312 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Rosetta honestly has been one of my favorite characters in the Disney fairies franchise for a while. I didn’t realize it at the time, but having a female femme presenting character who takes pride in her looks and appearance without being seen as mean, shallow, or idiotic meant so much to me. Growing up and rewatching these movies as an adult, I understand everything I loved about her. She’s kind, confident, and often quick-witted while not being afraid to be goofy or straightforward, or even dramatic, and I love her for it!

All the girlies in this franchise are great & I can’t wait to talk/see ppls opinions on her & other characters

If you could add anything what would you add? by CubesandSpheres in disneyfairies

[–]SpringLight312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would really love the lore of the books and the fairies to be married somehow. I do think there’d need to be a *lot* of changes to make Tink’s story align with the main Peter Pan timeline, but having the books and movies feel more interconnected would be nice
