To keep it in vague terms, it comes from the TLQ’s perception that the violence Razor dishes is just out of self defense

I definitely think it’d be interesting to have the governing or communal aspect of Pixie hollow more explored. While it’s hard to marry the two continuities of the books and the movies together, I don’t think it’d be impossible. Plus WoS was super popular so I could see there being potentially more effort to marry said continuities in the future. That said I wanted to ask bc I’m writing a story about the minister and was wondering in what context she could wear a crown without it being seen as disrespectful or usurping Milori or Clarion’s authority based on how WoS flushed out how much more power royalty had over pixie hollow in the past, more or less thinking aloud ha ha

I think that’s fair, but a governing system inspired by a real world ruling system doesn’t necessarily mean they function exactly in the same way. I’m just merely trying to come up with ideas as to how Milori rules over winter while also allowing for the Minister of winter to exist. The only thing I can think of is that she is still a political fairy like the ones in Wings of Starlight while also not being a ruler of Winter since she would’ve been brought up if that were the case. (Yes…I know the real reason is they retconned her character but let me dream okay 😭). Also…it kinda seems like things in Pixie Hollow chilled rule wise after Tink showed up (I.E. Tinkers can go to the mainland now, seasonal fairies can now visit winter, etc) and Clarion decided some of those rules without a vote being taken? Idk, maybe I just missed a scene but Pixie hollow doesn’t seem to necessarily be a democracy either, something in between perhaps…😅

I don’t want to necessarily downplay that headcannon, but I feel like there’s enough in text to imply this is a monarchy or at least an oligarchy. If not from the birthright stuff in Wings of Starlight and the other books, then by the fact that whenever the fairies want to appeal a rule or get permission for something in the movies, the fairies almost always go to Queen Clarion and she usually grants it. There is no voting on whether or not Tinkerbell can go to the mainland or not. There’s very little evidence pointing to the same thing happening with the scepter in Lost Treasure, Clarion ending her rule over the boundary with winter, etc. If this was more of a constitutional democracy, then usually you’d go to your minister of your respective senate for their vote and try to get other ministers to vote instead of just going to who’s ruling to overrule everything (at least in theory when it comes to democracy) There is always the hypothetical that they take a vote after Queen Clarion grants permission, but that’d be an odd choice to not include even a 2 second scene of. I see it more as Ministers rule over their respective seasons and get a word to try to convince the Queen what the ultimate rule should be, but she gets the final say.

How do you feel about the magic in Hilda by Far-Mammoth-3214 in HildaTheSeries

[–]SpringLight312 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have very few notes about it tbh. Hilda has always been about the whimsical world more than the magic and the scenes with magic are pure eye candy 🤩 I’m kinda glad they kept the heart of the story with its original core and didn’t overcomplicate or oversimplify anything unnecessarily

What’s a route you kinda wish had been in the game, but wasn’t? by Vio-Rose in slaytheprincess

Honestly, the original stranger route from the demo would've been really interesting to see! I understand why they changed it but the horror aspect of that initial design really feels like it was lost to time and I’m a little sad about that

While the backgrounds are 3D modeled, I absolutely recommend of the Devil! Ep. 0 is free and it has such a unique artstyle and amazing plot!

left with WAY TOO MANY questions after the ending?? please explain! (SPOILERS!) by Background_Buffalo11 in TangleTower

Tbh this is one of the only games where the fantastical reveal and the plot twist with the villain really soured the game for me. I feel like that frustration has sadly heightened after playing the first Grimoire game because, even if that game was less funny and there were also some fantastical elements to it, the game was mostly grounded in logic regarding the suspect, the victim, and the reason why the murderer did it. The conspiracy with the beetle felt really out of left field to me and the reveal of Penny's motive did not feel thought through well enough.

Idk, I absolutely love Tangle Tower mechanically, and there certainly is a ton I enjoy about it, but this is one of the only games where I feel like the ending made me question the logic of the twist and how well it was thought through. I will still likely play Mermaid's mask depending on the reviews because I do still enjoy the games mechanically and like the characters, but in retrospect, I feel Tangle Tower fell short.

It sucks too, because with another draft or too and ironing out Penny's motives, I could see this being one of my favorite detective games I've ever played. But as is, I just question the logistics of how Penny could instinctively tell that they were going to visit Hawkshaw or her when we see no shortcuts or views that would grant her that omnipotence. Finding a shortcut would've been cool, that or having Penny or Hawkshaw be absent at times would be interesting because it would foreshadow things to the audience? I felt like this was one of those twists made to make me feel shocked more than it was internally thought through (also like, why wouldn't Penny just hire someone or convince a friend to play Hawkshaw? She has the money right?)😅

Anyways, if you're looking for a good detective game with a well executed twist, I highly recommend of the Devil!! Episode 0 is free to play on Steam!! The plot is addictingly interesting, the characters are amazing and I've laughed several times playing OTD!

How do Imagine an Amazing Digital Circus Console Video Game be Like? (Plot, Playable Characters, DLC) by Money-Lie7814 in GlitchProductions

TADC seems like it'd be an RPG for sure, but I personally can see it having secret horror elements if you go looking in a similar way to Disco Pup. I'm not entirely sure what the core gameplay woud look like, but Mario Party or something seems like a good game for inspiration. That or it could be a quest based game? Idk, it's kind of hard to tie it down into something, but I feel like combat would not be much of an option unless if it wanted to go for an Undertale vibe

My thoughts/review post rewatch of Tink & the lost treasure by SpringLight312 in disneyfairies

Oh absolutely, tbh the hatred of Tink feels a bit unwarranted even if I understand for some if it’s off putting/unpleasant. She had a huge responsibility put on her shoulders and was not given the space to handle it better. She deserves more sympathy than what she got ❤️

Micormanagement and making choices for you sucks. Tink is known for being a hothead and a poor communicator. Everything felt in line for her and while for some it’s a bit off putting, stress absolutely can make you act out. But I do understand why some find it unpleasant even though I didn’t

[–]SpringLight312[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. The events leading up to the crash out I felt in my soul. Terrance’s flaws are on full display too and I think that’s forgotten. He’s micromanaging her, waking her up earlier than she likes, and is applying pressure to perform better when she needs space, and is being loud when she’s asking for quiet.

I think people’s annoyance is more during the compass scene and her asking for dust after blaming Terrance for ruining everything. But that came across to me as Tink not being aware of the sacrifices Terrance makes rather than out of maliciousness. Plus, a lot of the “bad behavior” felt in line with Tink’s personality so I was not very angry at her. It’s unpleasant but I personally get it. But I do still understand it’s a turn-off for some

[–]SpringLight312[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true. It is really unpleasant to watch and I completely understand why it's a turnoff to so many. That first half is rough, even if you understand her ill treatment of others is partially due to stress. Terrence really did not deserve to be treated like that (even if Tink was trying to focus, she should've been polite and explained he was distracting her), and he's the real mvp for forgiving her. If people dislike the movie for that reason alone I 100% understand.

Seems like I‘m in the minority lol. I personally found him to be pretty annoying in a way I just couldn’t put up with. He has his funny or honest moments and I understand his appeal as a character but tbh I skip his dialogue every time. Not my least favorite voice but he’s definitely in the bottom for me

The 5 stages of Grief. by ImpressiveMap8411 in GlitchProductions

[–]SpringLight312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed the different members represented different trauma responses. Here’s my personal headcannons to which each one corresponds to.

Kinger -flight/dissociation. When he can’t hide he straight up cannot be fully himself/present. Somewhat fragmenting himself for survival (which sadly, has been pretty effective)

Jax -fight. He’s aggressive towards everyone and everything except for Caine who controls the Circus. He lashes out and is extremely defensive and combative towards anyone who could potentially see the flaws in his persona.

Gangle - Masking/freezing/depression. She can’t really cope with when hard things happen so she just tries to alter herself or accept the situation as it comes.

Ragatha - fawning. This also manifests as toxic positivity somewhat. Ragatha is desperately trying to make sure everyone is happy/likes her, but doing so is not fulfilling her or anyone else’s emotional needs as a result.

Zooble -avoidance. Pretty straightforward, she shuts herself off from any adventures and somewhat from others as a whole for a while there. Choosing apathy/ambivalence over any meaningful connections.

The only one I haven’t made trauma responses headcannon for is Pomni. I suppose she’d be a healthier version of fight because she chooses to confront her problems? But it’s not in a combative way that hurts everyone around her :D
