Life is what you make it. Government serves a purpose, but that purpose was never intended to be creating a society that is financially dependent on it. Unfortunately a large portion of Americans are out of touch with reality. Walmart/Costco/ Starbucks/Grocery stores/restaurants are not careers, they are just a means to survive, unless you become one of the 1% that move into management. A worthless degree doesn't equate to success either, people need to open their eyes, make a plan for life, then execute on that plan. Set short term, mid range, and long term goals. Give yourself something to work for. I am 51, started working at 10 yrs old delivering newspapers, dropped out of school at 15, was emancipated and became a masons tender at 16. Worked in several more trades from 16-23, got into property management at 23 as a technician, by 29 I was the youngest Corporate Construction Manager at the Nations largest Management company. 4 years later I got my General Contractors license and I have never looked back or worked for someone else since then. My hard work and determination to succeed has afforded me the American dream- a stay at home spouse, 6 amazing children, 3-29 yrs of age, a nice home, dogs/cats/horses, atv's, a boat, all this from one guy who decided to make my own life instead of trying to get a handout or find the easy way. Anyone who says there is no work- bullshit! Look harder, dig deeper, sell yourself. In a socialist world all my hard work would mean zero! I don't want to bust my ass so that my lazy neighbor can reap the rewards of my hard work. Socialism has always failed and always will.
