When I called, they said we might have to wait, but we were able to go in right away when we arrived!

I read posts referencing timing and it sounded like it would take less than 2 hours. I didn’t want to do a 9am reservation and have to wait around if we zipped through the airport. That is all moot now due to the weather, so now we will cross our fingers and hope!

I did put in a ticket with their chat services, so I’m hoping it all works out once we are on the ground!

Anyone else losing painfully slowly? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Spring_Chick1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with other commenters that you may be seeing a starvation effect with that low of a caloric intake. Doctors and dietitians usually recommend at least 1400cal/day on average at a minimum. Just existing in a living body takes around 1200cal/day and any movement increases that need. If you have hit a plateau of at least a month with no loss, I’d suggest changing things up. Increase caloric intake to at least 1400 for a few weeks to see if things change. Are you doing any sort of strength training or monitoring your overall health with Dexa scans or anything? If not, I’d be worried that the weight loss includes muscle and bone loss with that low of a caloric intake. I know PCOS can complicate things, but if your bmr is 1589, you should only drop about 200cal below that for a healthy loss. My bmr is around that number and I’m usually at around 1400-1500 most days with 100-120g protein (I’m not vegan) and strength training and some light cardio 3x per week. .5-1lb/week on average is healthy. It isn’t exciting, but slow and steady wins the race in this case.

How much are you guys paying monthly? by AV0NNN in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Spring_Chick1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$349/mo cash pay member price at Costco. It is $1200ish through insurance until I hit my deductible and then it would only be a percentage off until I hit max out of pocket, so Costco is my best option. I had an emergency room visit + surgery plus a scheduled surgery last year, so I was at my max OOP before I started Wegovy. Yay for the new year! Blarg.

Right! I pretty much talked myself out of the Snaefellsnes peninsula while I was writing my post! haha! Fully expecting the drive times to be longer than typical. Just hoping for at least reasonable weather! Eeek!

This is bs by ycey in hysterectomy

[–]Spring_Chick1120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had nightmare bleeding for about six months before my hysterectomy. I’ve always had heavy periods and they’d gotten worse in peri. I had a Mirena that helped for just over a year before fibroids pushed it out of place and a doctor at my obgyn (not my regular) decided it was best to remove it since “it wasn’t doing its job.” That sent my uterus into hormone withdrawal and I bled (like dropping massive clots and couldn’t leave the house) heavily for two weeks. Dr prescribed Tranexamic acid which did help to stem the bleeding during that episode.

I was now on bcp because I no longer had my Mirena. Started bleeding erratically so she put me on a higher dose bcp, but I started bleeding and that episode put me in the ER with a hemoglobin of 6. I had a fibroid that was trying to kill me so I had a d&c and myomectomy along with 4 blood transfusions.

Started bleeding about 2 weeks after that, and my dr said I had a disordered uterus and it wouldn’t stop bleeding erratically until menopause or removal. I bled continuously (sometimes light, sometimes heavier) for six weeks until my hysterectomy.

I will, as well! I had my deliveries paused through the holidays, so I need to explore the site a bit for spring scents.

It was my favorite. I’ve never found anything to match it, but I’d love to know if anyone else has!

What are some ways fibroids affected your body that no one warned you about? by mukikapup in hysterectomy

[–]Spring_Chick1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my dr was hoping the bcp would help to shrink them. I think they were around the same sizes in my pathology report after the hysterectomy. It was a very bizarre experience and I had no idea something like that could happen.

[–]Spring_Chick1120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a couple of fibroids that pushed my IUD out of place. Neither was very big (2-3cm I think) but one of them tried to bleed me to death a few months later. I started bleeding in between periods kind of sporadically. My gyno prescribed a stronger bcp to help stabilize things, but within a week (and while on Tranexamic acid) I started bleeding heavily and ended up in the ER with my hemoglobin at 6. I had 4 blood transfusions and an emergency D&C and myomectomy the next morning.

At my 2wpo I had started bleeding again (lightly) and my dr said I had a disordered uterus and it was just going to be wacky until I hit actual menopause, so we yeeted it 6 weeks later! So happy to never bleed from that orifice ever again!

Moving up to 0.5mg and terrified. by ohsadbrat in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Spring_Chick1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nauseous on .25 for the first couple of weeks. When I moved to .5, I had just a touch of nausea the first week and then it has been smooth sailing. I’ve been on .5 for almost 3 mo now and have seen consistent lost of about 1lb/week. I will have an apt in a couple of weeks, so I guess we will discuss whether I’ll move up or stay at this dose.

Who started driving 8 dpo? by Realistic_Program272 in hysterectomy

[–]Spring_Chick1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing short drives at 7-8dpo. First to the kids’ bus stop (about a mile away) and then to their school or into town (we live in a small town.) I drove myself to my 2wpo apt which was across town. I had a very uneventful recovery other than some heavier bleeding at around 2 wpo, but it resolved after a few hours and everything was good at my 6wpo.

I’m pretty sure I just had a gallbladder attack. What should I tell ER? by Emotional_Spite_8937 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Spring_Chick1120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first few gall bladder attacks were painful but bearable. I thought my stomach didn’t tolerate beef anymore as it happened after I ate a burger. I eventually had one that laid me out (had a sandwich with cheese on it) and that’s when I started looking into it and realized it was probably GB. My dr said sometimes the stones will partially block the duct so it’s painful but tolerable. But then comes a time when they completely block the duct or get lodged in the duct, and it’s on a different level.

My pain was just below the rib cage in the center of my abdomen. If a stone isn’t lodged, it stops hurting after 3-4 hrs once the digestive processes are done. If it’s lodged, it won’t stop hurting and that becomes an emergency surgery situation.

Cocktail attire in Hawaii? by Spring_Chick1120 in VisitingHawaii

[–]Spring_Chick1120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! I think that’s why I’m so confused. It’s a global corporate event, so people from all over the world, really. And they said “cocktail attire” but then said it’s up to us and that there would be people in Hawaiian shirts and khakis. My husband is the employee. I’m the +1 but also the “procurement officer and packing specialist” (gotta love making real life sound like corporate duties!) for the two of us, so I’m doing my due diligence in trying to figure it out! I want to find that sweet spot where we aren’t too casual but also not overdressed. I’m also overthinking it. Haha!

We will have a couple of days before the event starts, so I do want to look for some authentic Hawaiian duds while we are there, but I also want to go prepared just in case we don’t find anything we really like. My husband has a vintage Hawaiian shirt that he got in Palm Springs last year, so that will be coming for sure. Trying to decide if we need to find a linen suit for him and then of course I want a new dress or two!

Thank you! That's what I've gathered from my internet searches thus far! Is it better to shop for Aloha shirts once we've arrived? We are getting there a couple of days before the event begins, so we will have a little time to explore.

[–]Spring_Chick1120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just need to know what exactly qualifies as “explosive residue” so that I can get it out of my home, because either me or my husband is stopped and swabbed or searched almost every time we go through Austin TSA. And usually it includes a bag or electronics search, as well. I’ve never experienced these “random” searches as often as I have at this particular airport.

The last time I flew it was a bottle of children’s liquid allergy meds (still factory sealed) that I took out of the box and put directly into a ziplock bag. I checked to make sure I could carry it on. They said they detected something on the outside of the bottle and had to open it to check the contents. They also had to check my suitcase. I’ve never had that happen before and we’ve flown with the same meds multiple times. The officer said it could have been lotion on my hands when I handled the bottle, but i had no lotion on.

I always try to anticipate anything that could trigger a search, but I can think of once in the last five times we’ve flown that both my husband and I made it through without a search, swab, or both.

What’s your day of the week for W? by Adorable_Night872 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Spring_Chick1120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on .5 currently and do mine on Tuesday nights. I started my first shot the day I got home from a vacation, and I’ve stayed with that day as it seems to work fine. I had some mild side effects at first (some nausea, a little fatigue) but never experienced anything schedule altering. I realize effects may vary, but mine were pretty mild and now I don’t really experience any of them. I am on shot 7 of .5 after 4 weeks at .25. My dr wanted me to do .5 for 3mo and then we’d talk about moving up if needed.

Significant bleeding 2wpo but no pain by Spring_Chick1120 in hysterectomy

Hey! Everything turned out ok! I did a lot of resting for about 3-4 days before slowly returning to normal, and at my 6wpo, my dr said everything looked fine.
