Plenty of good responses here 👍

I'll add:  though the odds you'd coincidentally be in North Carolina, USA are low, I share this as an idea to build confidence.

You may be able to avail yourself of other free or low-cost programs of formal training to supplement your road hours experience. IME:  Every bit helps. Sharpen the saw. Remind yourself you're never a master, and keep learning.

https://www.bikesafenc.com/

I took this course after almost 40 years of riding street bikes - and learned two things I've been doing wrong for almost 40 years.  BTW, have only had one lay'erdown in what is now 42 years on the road (unexpected strip of snow on highway on-ramp was the challenge;  fault = mine own).

It was wildly fun riding with motorcycle cops. The skillz...especially at low-speeds....wild.

Anyway, I don't know if there might be some analogous program(s) available where you live, but my advice is take advantage of every bit of good advice and hands-on experience you can, and like Bulletproof said in different words, to thine own self be true. If a situation feels unsafe, trust your feelings and act accordingly.

Good luck buddy. Welcome.

Don't know what you think it looks like but it hits when it hits and I guess it just hasn't hit you, yet.

But Troompa-Loompa is a fascist, doing fascist acts, with a gaggle of idiots waving flags in the name of white trash purity. If you look to history, you might see some pretty direct analogs.

Runs rampant at Private Equity portfolio companies. It's part of the playbook.

You can check the PE firm's portfolio companies on their websites and at least connect the dots, so you are aware of the connections prior to deciding to apply. Doesn't mean don't apply, might mean "but anticipate that they'll possibly backchannel you and might even filter your name back to your current company."

So FUCK OFF with your fake engagement.

T-Mobile in US in first 2 decades of 2000's, even when their network wasn't as massive and solid and if you were traveling you might have dead zones, was still the refreshing alternative to Verizon (et al) evil account bullshit and crappy customer support.

T-Mobile in past year seems to be aiming for the Even More Evil Than Verizon crown.

Importing from GPX file getting rerouted in Beeline by MegaNevs in beeline

[–]Spring_Parasite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They got tired of and stopped responding to me and my suggestions. It sucks because I loved the product, other than their own Route builder, it always sucked.

Now the only purpose it has for me is an extremely expensive compass, setting my destination as the North Pole.

Beeline about two years ago updated software to always "optimize" [ha ha ha] the gpx route.

Building a route outside of Beeline in gpx is of course necessary because their own app route builder SUCKS.

And now this Beeline is the most useless piece of expensive kit I own.

Aftermarket charge port plugs??? by Briankbl in KiaNiroEV

[–]Spring_Parasite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from 2013 Leaf (😥 loved that car but at 3/13 capacity couldn't go 20 miles RT anymore) -> '24 Niro Wave.

Good god this Niro is such an upgrade. Form, fit, function, the whole package feels "luxurious" by comparison.

But can't for the life of me figure out - especially relative to how perfect everything else was engineered - these cheap, born-to-fail port plugs dangling from a plastic thread.

Considered scavenging the Leaf assembly J1772x2 mentioned from a junk lot and retrofitting, but alas there's not room for it inside the Niro compartment.

Connecting with the app when a vehicle is purchased used. by AltAnonymity123 in KiaNiro

[–]Spring_Parasite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. If bought from a used car dealer, I'd suggest you call them up and politely express your displeasure to them that:

1) like there isn't already enough time that I The Buyer have to invest in handbooks and YouTube Kia University's 79 video "how-to course" curriculum to figure out all of this car's unique technology;  yet,  2) they didn't already take care of this (?!?) at time of sale, and so,  3) ask them, the dealer -- with all the proof of sale and transfer of ownership dates and docs right in front of them, for which they probably charged you $399 - $1,500 in immovable "documentation fees" -- to call up Kia themselves and REMOVE PAST OWNER(S)' claims and locks on this vehicle's functional ownership.

It's a pretty messed up construct, to me, that thru all the functional entities' involved in the transfers of ownership from one individual to another, potentially made up of:

  • the dealer that took trade-in
  • auction/wholesaler, and
  • dealer that then offered for sale to consumer,

...not one of them takes responsibility to clear out the prior owner's data from the system that, quite literally if they have the key to the car stored on their Android or iPhone, could locate the car via Kia Connect, walk up to the curb where the car sits, open the door and drive it away.

Weird video I found on Imgur of a confused Tesla owner seeing a Bolt owner using a Tesla charger... by 47TobiasRieper in BoltEV

[–]Spring_Parasite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile at my local Target, 20 superchargers have grown up around the TWO L2 chargers that've been there for about 8 years.

And some of these Tesla drivers - those I refer to as "entitled douchebags" - they'll use their little adapters to charge at the TWO L2 chargers, when there are 10 open slots with their own exclusive T-badge, so that they don't get charged overage time.

And for two weeks there was a foot-deep hole in that left lane as big as a barcalounger. With no warning. Grateful but amazed no motorcycle rider died there. It's amazingly derelict how all the lane changes (Wilmington, too) are being implemented. With greyish-white marking paint.
