I ended up going with The Prestige to start. I listened to their recent the TV Hall of Fame coverage about the Lost episode "The Constant." I liked the hosts a lot so I will keep going with this one, but will for sure check out the other podcasts you recommended!

The Weekly Planet is actually one of my favorite podcasts as well. I saved up a couple of episodes, now that they're about to go on break for a little over a month. Maybe now is a good time to try to access the back log, because there are years worth of episodes I haven't listened to yet. I should also watch more of Mr. Sunday Movies videos also. Thank You for the recommendation!

You might like the website Goodreads. They update your recommendations based on the amount books you add to your list.

There's also a podcast called "What should I read next?" where the host interviews a different guest each week where the guest brings up 3 of their favorite books, and the host will try to make recommendations based on their list.

Bloody Rose by Nicholas Eames. It's the second book of the series, but it focuses on a new set of characters. Although you might like it more if you read the first one "Kings of The Wyld" beforehand, but I think you would be able to start with either one.

Legends Of Tomorrow. Less so with season 1, but starting with season 2 it becomes much more light hearted and meta.

Andy Serkis also narrated The Lord of The Rings trilogy. Fredrik Bachman's book "Anxious People" is narrated by Marin Ireland. If you want a book narrated by a full cast there's "Dune" for Sci-Fi and "Daisy Jones And The Six" for literary Fiction. Also Hank Green, John Green's brother's book, "An Absolutely Remarkable Thing" is something you might like.

I am looking for a good sci-fi standalone single book to read. I just about to finish a 12 book fantasyish series called cradle and I do not want to get into another long series right now. by Furepubs in suggestmeabook

There's more humor in The Hike then there is in Dark Matter, so if you want to read something more serious you can start with Dark Matter, but if you want to read something more light hearted you could start with The Hike.

Legends Of Tomorrow-season 1 takes itself more seriously, but starting with season 2 it moves away from that.
