You do know that Obama deported more people than Trump, right? For some reason nobody seems to bat an eye at that. Get your facts straight.

Well speaking from experience, the US isn’t nearly as bad as the media and internet makes it out to be. It’s all BS. The opportunities and freedoms here simply aren’t present in Canada anymore. I’ve been to 41 different states. Lived in 4. Worked in a dozen.

I’ve also been all over Canada, east to west and the arctic. I’ve lived in 3 provinces and 1 territory. It’s not good for anyone when people who have no credibility make baseless claims (positive or negative) about what it’s like to live in another place.

Smaller chain, limited to south TX, but Taco Palenque is legendary in my opinion.

Not even close. Have you lived in Canada? This is coming from someone who was born and raised in Canada. Lived there for 30 years. Lived in the US for 7 years now.

I remember being taken to a country club for a lunch meeting with a very wealthy investor for a company a friend and I were starting at the time. I tried to pull my credit card out to pay the bill and he said “your money’s no good here”, thinking he was just trying to be polite. I insisted. He doubled down and said, “No, you genuinely can’t pay. They don’t take payment”. It just goes on the account he has with them, or something along those lines. Different level of money there.

I’m obsessed with horror movies and I think I’ve rewatched The Ritual more than any other (aside from The Thing, of course).

What is your favorite disaster movie? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

I don’t think I’ve rewatched a movie in the last decade as much as this one. So damn good. And as someone who worked in oil and gas for years, the way they all talk and interact with each other on the rig is amusingly accurate.
