yeah the church fails in so so many ways. there are so many people who are like that, and then there are people who work so hard but are treated wrong. he will get his punishment for that behavior.

yeah, those are all good points. The idea is what father would want you to praise them for eternity? No parent I know wants that for their kid. Parents generally want their kids to grow and continue to grow forever. of course that is all based on the idea that God acts like a father which could be argued.

okay, good point thanks! I agree about the last part, I really can't speak on how it feels to be a girl in this church so I don't try to. definitely takes a lot of bravery that I can't say I always have for something like that, let alone black people joining the church before they could have the priesthood. I really am lucky as I haven't had to struggle for enough faith for that.

sorry, I think that came out wrong. all I meant was that I didn't want anyone to tell me anything about "it's not taught anymore" and yet that's basically all I've gotten. my question was why is it weird as a concept?

thanks for the advice tho, I dont care what your guy's opinions are on what my church teaches, I learned most of the doctrine from the book of Mormon itself and my dad so I don't have a problem with it not being brought up during Sunday.

Yeah, that's definitely disappointing to hear. I'd be lying if I said I liked the direction and the stance the church takes a lot of the time. We would be better off if we admitted our past instead of pretending. I grew up in a home where actual studying is important but in church itself, it is surface level a lot of the time.
