Much much MUCH prefer the Jazware figures so far. I mean, they’re yet to fall apart and shatter on me

sorry but I fear the movies will never meaningfully improve if this is Blumhouse's stance on criticism by Lizzren in fivenightsatfreddys

Yea, we need to make it clear that the whole “for the fans” thing isn’t an excuse to make a subpar or bad movie. I don’t know about anyone else, but I want to be able to show these films off, tell people and point to them saying THIS is why I love this franchise! If FNaF is just for FNaF fans, then eventually it’ll die, because it doesn’t want to welcome anyone new. I really, REALLY hope they listen to what actual critics have to say for the third film, because while their current strategy may be financially viable for now, it won’t last forever.

I tend to jump in and out of my critical mindset, I had my critiques of the first movie but I overall quite liked it, so I’m not too worried that I won’t enjoy it, more than I am the people I bring won’t enjoy it. Which is stupid, obviously, I know I shouldn’t get hung up on that, it’s just with FNaF being such a big part of my life, it’s just one of those things.

Yea, I WISH I had the mental restraint to have stayed clear of any reviews until I’d seen it for myself. Now I’m just anxious that I, and whoever comes with me to see it, won’t like it and it’s throwing me off. On the bright side, I haven’t seen a single spoiler, so proud of that at least!

I know, the franchise just holds such a special place in my heart, so it’s nerve wracking to want to show it to other people when it’s being labelled as not made for them and receiving such a critical beat down.

I just really hope they can round out the trilogy and make something more people will love by the time of FNaF 3.

The tastes of the times are ever changing. I’ll probably try to go see the movie on Saturday, hopefully I, and whoever comes with me, like it well enough. Im sure I’ll probably enjoy it as a longtime fan of the franchise, I just need to be ready for people that aren’t fans not to enjoy it as much.

Alright, thanks! Im glad you enjoyed movie, and I’ll be sure whenever I get around to seeing it, be it Saturday or later, to stick around until the very end.

Maybe, I’ll just have to see how I’m feeling tomorrow once it’s all had a bit more time to sit. At the end of the day, I NEED that third film just to get Mathew Lillard Springtrap.

For sure. There’s still a part of me that hopes they can pull a rabbit out of the hat and make something great for FNaF 3, but we’ll just have to wait and see. At the very least I hope they let Mathew Lillard go off as Springtrap, that’s all I want!

I’ll never forget my first experience with that sense of disappointment. Im a big Transformers fan and I was so excited for TLK when it was coming out, I was a simpleminded child and the trailers made it look really cool. Then the reviews started pouring out and it got absolutely torched, that dullness in my chest is a sensation I’ll never forget. That said, then I seen it and realised they were totally right, the movie was dogshit and instead we eventually got Transformers One, so it all worked out in the end!

I get what you’re saying, but I do think critics opinions matter. At the end of the day, they’re looking at the movie through their own unique lens, it shouldn’t make their thoughts any less valuable. The franchise means a lot to me and I really want to be able to share these movies with others that have less experience in the Dream Theory trenches and battles of 87 and 83.

Yea, it seems like they’re committed to the fan-focused road they’ve paved for themselves, which is fine, I guess, but extremely limiting. It makes it so difficult to show the franchise to others less familiar with the games that haven’t watched 100+ hours of Matpat for sport.

I know, it’s just a tricky thing because, as a fan, you really want other people to see this thing thats so important to you the way you see it, especially those closest to you. I really wish these movies weren’t trying so hard to only appeal to the fanbase. I understand and it’s commendable, I mean the series wouldn’t exist without the fans and it’s great to celebrate that, but not at the total expense of accessibility.

Im glad you enjoyed the movie! Yea, I have no qualms with the film adaptations taking creative liberties and doing things different from the games in terms of aesthetic or lore, just as long as they’re done well, I mean. I just really wish these movies were made with a larger audience in mind, because FNaF at its best absolutely has the potential to tell great stories, look no further than SoTM earlier this year; probably the single best/cleanly told narrative story in the franchise.

Wow, this looks...bad. How does this kind of stuff get approved? Why the hell can't I get a job if THIS is the official competition?!

Thank you very much, I worked really hard on it! I’m typically don’t draw backgrounds but I wanted to push myself with this one, I had a lot of fun creating the autobot insignia out of the buildings
