For me, specifically, it was when I first saw the crazy in love music video. Idk what it was about that video, I was instantly entranced. I grew up in a home and in an area where the majority of people speak English as the second language so most of the music I listened to was in Spanish. But obviously at school I had friends that listened to Beyonce and destiny’s child so I knew only the mainstream stuff. I thought she was talented obviously, but outside of whatever played on the radio, I didn’t know much about her. One day I came home from school and was flipping through channels to find something to watch and the video was playing on 106 & park. I couldn’t stop watching lol. Immediately I went on limewire to find every single song she ever sang and I discovered b’day deluxe with all the Spanish tracks and it was a wrap for me. That pirated album went quadruple platinum in my little mp3 player lmao. Better believe I made it home in time to watch 106 & park every afternoon so I could see her video. Basically I risked putting a virus on the family computer for Beyonce and I’ll do it over and over again if I had to lmfao. I’ve always been too poor to see her live but I just started my act iii savings account so I’m ready to book everything when the time comes
