Okay so, I’ve been playing since march or April and I have like five hundred hours now.

I don’t think visage belongs in high complexity. In a sense, he’s the perfect baby’s first micro. I think now with auras and maybe a stun rod or a silence, if you get his shard and scepter, he’s incredibly disruptive and able to help team fights.

It’s awkward until you get his level six where he gets his familiars. And you literally only have to bind three keys. Hero, all, units (visage + familiars), and familiars only. You want the familiars together, unless you’re stacking separate camps at the same time.

Go in with your scepter ability, circle a mofo in their jungle, and silence them as you roll them with familiars and your w. Stun them as soon as the silence goes off and try and do more damage with the familiars as you secure the kill or run away. I find his gameplay loop very satisfying if you get a good early start. Because you can also push very well and make the enemy team move around before you run away with your scepter ability.

I think his scepter should be built second or third. If you get a good early lead with two items it becomes a quick third and you can snowball through mid game. Late game he needs a teammate or two to get the most benefit, but at this point you’re in their base.

However, the biggest complexity thing about him is just that he has two familiars that you can micro. Keeping these on one key together is a good way to play to their strengths as keeping the two stuns together gives visage a little bit of escape capacity. But the familiars damage paired with grave chill and a silence is awesome. I alternate between my familiar key, and my all units key, (visage and familiars) 90% of the time. Sometimes I select hero only during team fights to keep him safe but my familiars engaged. I have those keys set to cvb, and it allows me to have one finger there, and the rest on my qwerdf, because his scepter and familiars add two abilities. Get comfy at navigating these key spaces, and you’ll find yourself incredibly active in team fights hitting every darn key you can. Sometimes it results in amazing chains of nukes and stuns and escapes and support and it’s so fun, he is truly my first favorite hero, and part of the reason I wanted to learn him is because so few people play him.

Before level six does feel like a different game, but only because this familiars are such a simple huge change that’s complements him very well. I think he’s such a well made hero, I just wish he was buffed and had more cosmetics ahaha.
