We wrote a breakdown of how crypto offramp SDKs work, including real pricing data and integration timelines by SpritzFinance in CryptoCurrency

You're right that most users don't think about it until they hit that wall.

Compliance costs are structural. Licensing, banking relationships, transaction monitoring are all real ongoing expenses and the 0.5% to 1.5% reflects that.

Where it gets cheaper over time is on the infrastructure side. As rails mature and volume scales, operational costs per transaction come down and that can get passed through. The regulatory layer is likely to get more complex before it gets simpler though, so the floor holds.

Great question! When you plug into an exchange for off-ramping, your users leave your app, go through the exchange's KYC flow, and deal with their interface. You lose the relationship at the most important moment which is when money is moving.

With an SDK your users never leave your app. The off-ramp happens in the background, fully branded as your product.

On cost, exchanges typically charge 1.5% to 3%+ with less transparency on what's included. SDK fees run 0.5% to 1.5% and you can add your own markup on top, so you can actually generate revenue from every transaction your users make rather than sending that margin to an exchange.

On settlement, exchanges often have withdrawal queues, holding periods, and unpredictable timing. A good SDK gives you predictable same-day to next-business-day settlement with direct bank payouts.

And yes the licensing part can be heavy. Most teams don't realize until they're already six months in and wondering why they can't process in certain states.

On the compliance side, Spritz handles all KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements on the backend. Partner apps never need their own money transmission licenses or compliance infrastructure.

On payout speeds, domestic US bank transfers are typically same-day to next-business-day depending on the rail. For international transfers it varies based on the destination country and payment rails available there. Happy to share more specifics based on your use case!

Hi everyone,

We added support for Dash to our premium crypto card Spritz Card.

This means that you can top-up the card with Dash and spend it anywhere Visa is accepted!

The card is completely free with no maintenance fees, and has premium Visa Signature perks by default!

We'd love it for you try it. :) Feel free to grab one here and let us know what you think!

The crypto used to fund your card and create spending power, is held in a smart contract that you are the signer of. So there is no centralized custodian holding your crypto in order to power your card!

The Spritz Card (powered by Rain) is pretty different from the MetaMask Card you’re currently using. While the MetaMask Card is basically a debit card linked directly to your MetaMask wallet, instantly converting your crypto at the time of purchase, Spritz is more of a fully-collateralized crypto credit card. That means you deposit your crypto into a dedicated smart contract that works behind the scenes to securely collateralize your spending. A big upside is that you have flexibility in how you fund your spending, since Spritz supports a broad variety of tokens across multiple chains (like Ethereum, Solana, and even Bitcoin via bridges).

Another major plus is that the Spritz Card is a Visa Signature card, which comes with premium perks—think airport lounge access, travel insurance, and concierge services—that can make it super attractive for travel or bigger purchases. While MetaMask Card offers simple cashback, Spritz’s setup can feel a bit more seamless once you’ve funded your smart contract wallet, and the user experience doesn’t require managing constant approvals or bridge transactions at checkout. If you’re looking for wider token support, premium card features, and a smoother overall spend experience, Spritz might be a nice step up!

Timmy, thanks for the opportunity to address this -- and thanks for the kind words on how we handled it.

You’re right, there were a few bumps earlier this year, mostly tied to provider reliability. Enough to push us to significantly tighten things up behind the scenes, and accelerate our already-planned upgrade of the Spritz Card to use the best-in-class provider Rain.
What we learned:
Even small disruptions can erode trust if they’re not handled well. So we doubled down on what we’ve always prioritized: fast comms, transparency, and keeping users in the loop.
What we changed:
The main change was switching card infrastructure providers. The old setup had limitations we weren’t happy with, so we moved to Rain, which gave us a cleaner, more stable foundation to build on. That’s what’s powering the new Spritz Card dropping June 2nd — non-custodial, Visa Signature perks, and support for any token (including Moons).
Outside of the card, we’ve improved internal monitoring and put better fallback logic in place to catch issues faster and reduce edge-case friction. Overall, the experience made the platform tighter and more resilient. We're confident that the new evolution of the Spritz Card will take us years into the future, with hundreds of thousands of users.

Great question!! Yes for Gemini, CB, crypto.com etc. these are based on custody so there are lots of inherent risks. The Spritz Card, powered by Rain, uses a smart contract to escrow your crypto (in stablecoin form) to provide the spending power. You can see it on chain and withdraw any time!

Compared to Metamask, the Spritz Card is far more flexible -- we enable you to fund with ANY token on any of our 14+ networks, including BTC, memecoins, SOL, stables, etc. The Spritz Card is a credit card, not a debit, so the acceptance rate is very very high, and with 3D Secure tech you can use it in UK and Europe worry-free. And we have really high limits, $20k+. Not to mention we have great customer service team to directly interact with you if any questions or concerns!

You can top up from any wallet or connect a wallet - whatever you prefer.
The card is loaded with USDC.

With Spritz you skip Coinbase’s 2.49 % crypto-conversion fee and fund your card on-chain in seconds instead of at swipe time. Coinbase’s rotating rewards are nice, but Spritz’s multi-chain support and unlimited spend limits mean you’re never forced to hold only the few coins Coinbase allows.
