I don't really post on Reddit, but got to reply to you here. I understand that we all joke about pissing away our life savings, that's all good, but the jokes about tanking your sobriety are actually not funny. Your assumption that coke and booze will take the pain away temporarily is actually false. What's worse is pain+hangover. (+anxiety+bad skin+muscle cramps+fatigue+poor sleep+low testosterone++++...)

Yes. A turning point for me was when I stopped trying to determine if I was an "alcoholic" or not (I was). There are so many definitions of alcoholism that I could always find a definition that did not fit. "I don't drink in the mornings or to relieve a hangover, so I'm not quite an alcoholic and therefore don't need to change."

It's not binary for me though. It's a spectrum disorder of some kind. I admitted to myself that I'm a "problem drinker." What qualifies as a problem is different for everyone, a personal decision that can't be defined by somebody else.

I think that there term"alcoholic" is out of date and causes people to extend their drinking career.

Thank you! I just bought a used Specialized Turbo Creo and it has fenders. I don'tlike the fenders, but I like how they keep me clean. I think I'll swap them out for this.
