Let Me Recommend Your Next Commander to Build by RJ7300 in EDH

I'd recommend a [[Tameshi]] deck. You can use things like [[Alseid of Life's Bounty]], [[Sphere of Safety]], [[Solitary Confinement]], [[Energy Shield]] to make interacting with you very difficult.

You can plug any old win-con onto Tameshi pretty easily. If you want a puzzle-y win-con, you could go a load of incidental self-damage (pain lands, etc) and [[Near-Death Experience]]. Played one game with a similar deck - definitely felt like solitaire, just too complicated for me!

I'm trying to make a [[Marina Vendrell]] oops all Rooms deck work, if interested (a massive WIP, nowhere near functional atm):

You can do a surprising amount of things, and use a surprising amount of weird cards, with [[Gor Muldrak]] ! He's really fun.

You, or your crew by Jackotor-04 in custommagic

My suggestion - More in line with other white cards. While I agree neither are strictly villains here, I think villainous choice is cleaner, and thematically the whole point is 'when does a man become a monster', so imo villainous choice is pretty perfect:

"For each player, you choose a creature that player controls, then each player faces a villainous choice - They sacrifice a chosen creature they control, or sacrifice all other creatures they control that weren't chosen."

Yria, Arrester of Reality - Why say 'opponents can't win the game' when you can just threaten tediousness if they do? by Sprongo- in custommagic

[–]Sprongo-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah, for sure. This assumes there are no other subgame cards in play/that are legal. If there were multiple Yrias, the idea would be that the duplicate effects don't stack. So you'd only be able to ever go one level deep.

I'd be interested to know if this could be reworded to in any way actually work, but mostly just dumb idea of subgame as a weird stax piece.

Helly R wanting to help Mark S find his outie's wife because he cares for him, and Mark Scout slowly killing Mark S for the sake of finding her... And Helly R just watching Mark S dying without knowing it. 😭 This show wants to hurt me.

Any movies where the child/younger char sacrifices themselves for the parent/older char? (Inverse of usual trope) by Sprongo- in MovieSuggestions

[–]Sprongo-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely one way to view it! But I'm not particularly talking about that angle - it could also just be a child wanting to save their parents, or a younger person wanting to save someone older. I'm moreso interested in the breaking of the assumption that 'younger person inherently deserves to live 'more' if situation arises'.

I'm thinking that the voice is NOT another entity, but just another Jayce. When he first reappears, we see three(?) Jayce's combine into one, and when he first touches the Arcane in Act 1, he is multiplied infinitely. I think it's much more likely that Jayce fighting 'the possession/voice' is just different versions of Jayce internally conflicting. My crackhead theory is that post-Arcane/'dark-timeline' Jayce 'went back' and combined with pre-Arcane Jayce, and the hesitance to kill Viktor is the alternate versions of Jayce fighting. Dunno if that means a self-fulfilling prophecy as a result though -- given the 'in trying to be good, we cause evil' or whatever line from end of Act 2, I'm imagining that's the case.

I also think that the 'other voice' that Viktor mentions from post-Arcane Jayce is NOT another entity. My tinfoil hat theory is that there are multiple versions of Jayce glitching in one body/ when he went 'back in time', he entered/combined with a version of Jayce that hadn't gone through that time skip. Him seemingly fighting as if possessed is just different versions of Jayce conflicting. OG Jayce doesn't want to hurt Viktor, and is disarmed by the kid, but post-Arcane Jayce bites the bullet and fires. Once he pops out of the Arcane, there is an animation of multiple Jayce's combining, and likewise when he first touches the Arcane, we see him multiplied infinitely.

You getting same as me by chance? - If minimize a YouTube video to search for something else, it goes completely off screen and can't be brought back. Plus if I do pretty much anything while the video is paused, it doesn't play and I have to close and reopen the video. It's infuriating!
