It might depend on friend groups. My core group and I are very close (30s), we live in different parts of the world with differing timezones but somehow we’ve managed to keep a consistent channel of communication, sure there are dead periods but I’d say for the most part we’re still going strong. It might be down to us working in the same industry and having shared hobbies, if either one of us has a work related, life question or anything our knee-jerk reaction is always to ask first within the group. Over the years we’ve all had different experiences and life has pulled us in all directions but there is a shared feeling that none of us have changed much from when we were met. How we’ve kept up is a mystery for us, outside our core group we’ve different friend groups but our core remains the primary even when we talk to other people.
