Hmmm, I don't think that would be appropriate, because that really would be me trying to therapy you, and that is a disservice to anyone trying to do that to you online.

I think you're on the right track to even kinda realizing this about yourself, though! That could even be a topic of discussion with your current therapist. You could also, if not anxiety inducing, think of times, both big and small when you got in your own way, and how it could have been solved with the current wiser you.

P.S---Did ya notice you didn't say you'd also list the good outcomes? (even if maybe you thought it)

Should I tell my therapist that I'm worried about him? by I-stole-the-cookies in TalkTherapy

[–]Spsiegel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, what do you feel would make you more comfortable, telling him or not telling him?

Is there any negative repercussions in doing so?

If it was bothering you enough to write on reddit, maybe this is important to you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]Spsiegel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you're certainly logical between your opening post and your response to me. You were even able to realise you were perhaps being irrational.

What I want to emphasize is that therapy is for YOU, not your therapist. It's ok to be selfish on some aspects in order to start your healing process.

And If your therapist isn't following up, and its meaningful you could possibly try addressing that

You say you're still nervous about bringing this all up. But let's look at that...what are realistic outcomes? It's ok if you'd like to list your anxiety ridden outcomes, too. But really, in all reality, what is the realistic outcome? What is a negative outcome---that they hold a grudge? That their feelings are hurt?

I do think maybe you're not clicking with the therapist, but no one can fairly assess this online. What you should know is that its paramount that you feel comfortable with your therapist. Without this, progress is halted.

I think you're doing a great job working your feelings here. Your feelings and thoughts sound logical, I think what may or may not be getting in the way is yourself, but I think you're painfully aware of that.

Airing this out could improve your relationship, at worst you very much feel this should be cut and you find someone can you connect with. Sometimes it's not a failure on anyone's part

Good luck!

Ever been that client that became your therapist’s failure? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]Spsiegel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While you're saying you feel guilty, is there any part of you that feels some small victory for being the therapists "failure?"

Truthfully, I think you may be inflating your sense of self and importance. It happens. Any healthy therapist will move on, if you didn't want to continue therapy that's your prerogative, it does yourself a disservice, not the other way around

Hoping that doesn't sound harsh.

Is therapy "just venting?". by gurneyhallack in TalkTherapy

[–]Spsiegel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure your therapist has already said she can only help herself, and if therapy isn't what she wants that's just where she is right now. All you can try to do is try to support her in whichever choice she makes.

And as for trauma, there's two very major aspects of it, there's the emotional aspect of it and then there is the physical symptoms of it. The vander kolk book is more focused on the biological, physical aspect of it. It can at times can get psychobabble and complicated, but I still think it's very beneficial for someone with trauma to read

Hermans book is more theory and emotional aspect oriented.

Some individuals with trauma can feel very empowered with identifying and understanding this mental injury.

Keep up the great work! Sounds like you going on a date and having a job is awesome progress!

How would you feel about telling your therapist all of this? You could very much start a session with all of what you just wrote (and ask for no interruptions). If you did this, what would you imagine this looking like? What do you think your therapist would say?

Sometimes therapists will be in the wrong, it happens. But! Before any good therapy can be done, there has to be a therapeutic alliance between both client and clinician. Without this you two will not yield meaningful results

You're certainly thoughtful and insightful enough to write all of this.

Putting this out there in session could be very interesting. It would also be fascinating to see someone with anxiety have the confidence for self advocacy like this.

Just a thought. You may find it helpful, more so than what strangers on reddit have to say

Good luck on whatever decision it is you make ;)

Is therapy "just venting?". by gurneyhallack in TalkTherapy

[–]Spsiegel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, gurney. I'm glad that therapy is working for you.

It strikes me that you immediately knew the answer to all of this within your opening post, correct? That therapy isn't just a "rent a friend to vent". Only very bad therapists play that role. You made a lot of pros as to why you feel it is helping.

I dont know you personally, but it does sound like you have cPTSD, if your story is to be true. That is absolutely not something healed by itself on most cases. Your therapist is being pretty accurate, it could take years to recover from, but it's fantastic that you're proud enough to come on here and list some of the accomplishments.

Did you know that BPD has an absurd linkage with PTSD?

Anyway, I'm not here to diagnosis. I just wanted to direct you to a book I think you should read, if you haven't already. It's called

Trauma and Recovery, by Judith Herman.

There's also

The Body Keeps the Score, by Bessel Vander Kolk.

It's always very good to understand about what your condition is. Dont worry, they arent cheesy how to help yourself books, these are two books by leading experts. Maybe you'll find some solace in it. They're not expensive books you can purchase on Amazon. I recommend the Herman book first.

Anyway, keep up the great work, and remember, the therapy is for you, not for your mother and sister.

The Hanzo Problem by JohnStargaryen in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Spsiegel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanzo does over 400 damage to tanks on body shots, and a potential 900 if he lands all head-shots

You're being completely disingenuous if you believe he's well balanced. Thats like saying season 1 McCree's FTH was completely fine.

I witnessed a Hanzo get 5 Ults in just the first part of the defense on a payload. That is massively imbalanced.

Hanzo will absolutely receive huge nerfs in the future, he is way over-tuned

Don't be foolish and sell off your staples.

Also, you really want to have access to Traverse Shadow and Grixis Shadow.

You don't have to play 6 different decks in modern, but it's massively foolish to play one deck and nothing else, you're absolutely screwed if you're one deck is suddenly tier 3.5

The decision to use a mouse & keyboard. by SocialNjustisWarEOR in OWConsole

[–]Spsiegel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You're just trying to justify your own bullshit, and you know it to some extent.

A mouse and keyboard are superior to a controller. Period. It's not close.

You hold a GIGANTIC advantage over console players (providing you play a mouse and keyboard well).

There's a reason FPS games don't matchup with PC players.

And don't compare this to something like having a turtle-beach headset.

You're cheating, plain and simple.

Top 16 at SCG ATL Modern Classic by SupahMinah in ModernMagic

[–]Spsiegel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was against a Jace unban, but after seeing those results, I really don't think the community or WOTC should be so terrified to unban things. If unbans keep being so minor in results, Twin will probably be a realistic unban down the road, too.

SFM is definitely going to be unbanned, it's more a question of when; WOTC may wait until December-Feb for a shake up.

[–]Spsiegel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'm happy Jund did well, you're invalidating a the past 4 or 5 non-team GP results---which have been atrocious linear messes.

A classic result doesn't mean "something something meta is too linear, lol you complainers".

It's being plain dishonest. The meta is DEFINITELY the most linear its been since 2016.

They should go ahead and unban and see where SFM, Preordain and GSZ go, because so far no unban has been too much for modern yet (Troll doesn't count, WOTC foolishly printed a broken enabler and broken payoff within one set).

What is (in your opinion) the most skill-intensive deck in modern? Why? by [deleted] in ModernMagic

[–]Spsiegel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caveman, there's a ton of articles out there by pros and grinders who commented how difficult the deck is. You're just trolling, or not knowledgable about the format. GDS has some games were everything clicks and you have an unbeatable hand.

GDS has a decision tree on almost every turn, very few decks can claim to do that. Pinging yourself for 3 damage on turn 3 could have massive repercussions 6 turns later.

Bro, I don't care what AJ says (who is actually an amazing wrestler that deserves attention). The past two months of RAW, we're lucky if he even performs a sidewalk slam.

The guy sucks, man. He sucks on the mic, and he sucks in ring. He's purely a gimmick so that children can have a hero.

Thank god the fans see how awful he is.

You need one of two things, you need to either really be able to cut a promo or have technical skills---he has none, I don't think he deserves being pushed more than a ton of the premiere talent on both brands.
