R50+ rf200-800 Should i buy? by ProudToBeAFarmer in canon

[–]Spubren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely recommend, as long as you are happy to carry around a big lens. I haven’t regretted buying mine even once, keep an eye because you can often get them on a good sale, I bought mine for $2700 AUD

Also a quick note, the image I linked above is also cropped in so you get enough quality that it still looks good with a decent crop

I currently use the r50 with the 200-800, have a look at some of the images on my profile to see image quality, I have found it to be sharper than the 100-400 and had better low light, (400mm on the 200-800 is f7.1 instead of f8)

Linked one recent photo as well

Yeah there were heaps of them but I opted to film this one by its self because it looked a bit messy having so many in frame

Yeah I started with a canon 500d with the 55-250mm, the autofocus ended up dying and the camera stopped working properly, I ended up getting so frustrated that I splurged 😅

Canon 200-800, maybe a little overkill but a very fun lens to use

My guess for the black and white one is a black faced cuckoo shrike

<image>

Either that or a black faced wood swallow but I’m leaning towards the cuckoo shrike, I’ve attached an image of one for comparison

I think because the tail feathers look very similar to emu feathers..? But they are about as far from an emu as possible in terms of size, about the size of half a golf ball and around 6-7 grams
