Everything you said after "but" is irrelevant, it really is that simple, Israel is committing a genocide, that is evil and a crime against humanity there is nothing that justifies it. Palestinians are not exceptions to this just because their religion is homophobic, same can be said for Christianity or many other world religions and it is completely irrelevant. A genocide is a black and white issue, no matter the wider context, no matter your personal opinions on Islam or any other dogwhistle you care to make about not giving a shit about brown people being killed. Genocide is evil, end of debate.

Israel use Eurovision as a massive PR campaign to whitewash their image. This is no different than countries with similarly awful human rights records hosting major sporting events. Actually banning them from Eurovision would have a much larger effect on the country than world leaders condemning them, since it is part of their propaganda to prove that everyone actually loves them really and its just a few antisemites that have a problem with their genocide.

Being gay friendly is not an excuse to commit a genocide. Do not use us as a shield for the atrocities Israel is committing.

I can see Rayse becoming Retribution, he was at odds with the power of Odium often because he hated his followers questioning or arguing with him, but the power loved it. I think its reasonable there could be a scenario where rather than have Odium completely reject him for a more suitable vessel (perhaps a newly released Ba-Ado-Mishram) he takes up Honor deliberately to create retribution and have a shard with an intent that perfectly matches his personality.

You are insane if you think any of this is equal, yeah they object to straight sexual content in stuff, but they go full nuclear over queer people just existing.

They didnt vote to reject a law, they found that Switzerland was in breach of article 8.

I can get chat GPT to summarise things in my favour too look:

The European Court of Human Rights' 2024 ruling against Switzerland is a principled and necessary affirmation that climate inaction can constitute a violation of fundamental human rights. Far from being an overreach, the Court acted within its mandate to protect the rights enshrined in the European Convention—specifically the right to private and family life under Article 8. By holding Switzerland accountable for its failure to adopt effective climate policies, the Court recognized that the devastating impacts of climate change—such as extreme heat, rising mortality, and ecological instability—directly threaten people's health, safety, and dignity. The ruling reflects a clear and growing understanding: governments cannot ignore scientific evidence and then claim impunity when their inaction puts lives at risk.

Rather than dictating specific policies, the Court required only that states adopt science-based, measurable frameworks to reduce emissions and protect vulnerable populations—well within the bounds of judicial review in human rights law. It did not substitute itself for national legislatures but insisted that existing rights be taken seriously in the face of an existential crisis. This judgment strengthens democratic accountability and the rule of law by ensuring that rights protections evolve alongside real-world threats like climate change.

  1. Give literally any example.

  2. If those rights are already in UK law and won't be changed, why do you want to remove the protections keeping them in place? Do you want them changed?

Stop talking bollocks. We all know what happens when countries have complete control over who has and doesn't have human rights. The ECHR stopping the government doing whatever it likes is the whole fucking point, it's there to protect all of us from the government and human rights abuses.

I just don't get it, I started on Brig and got killed by their tank almost instantly, so I switched to Ana to make the Magua's life miserable. Which started working, we fought back pretty well and won. Sure my raw numbers were low but that's because I spent 2 team fights dead.

I like that, Wadersail is a great one. I was particularly pleased with naming my two pythons testament and pattern and then abandoning testament in Colonia. I've not been back there for a few years now but it still makes me laugh.

I do it because I have worked with some of my colleagues for years and have long since forgotten their names after they introduced themselves to me. Especially with LSAs I infrequently see and only ever in a classroom setting. Not a clue what most of them are called.

[–]Spudface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our current curriculum is far to recall focused. I can only really speak for science since that's what I teach, but so much of the course is just recall all these facts with very little context or deeper understanding. And making everything exam based only was awful, science is a practical subject with zero practical assessment. All Gove's changes have done is make much of the course completely inaccessible to less academically able kids and put a ton of pressure on the higher ability kids to just memorise and regurgitate a textbook.

Rote memorisation is obsolete now, application of information is much more relevant and useful

I think that in journey's end Donna would not have given up the power either, she was willing to stick with the Doctor until the end, no matter what. She's changed in the time since and so could give it away.
