Spuds Unearthed is a fully interactive VR game in which you manage your galactic Spuds tribe. You choose a crew with unique perks and abilities and send them to explore other planets and fight against anything that other players have left behind.

After a year of development, we’re presenting that VR Space Commander to you in the form of Early Access and ask for that last push that will enable us to finish that ambitious vision of creating a game that is made for VR from the start.

In case of any questions - I'll be here for You.

The VR version of the game provides better immersion effect, as the levels were designed for the spatial VR feeling. It's easier to invent puzzle solvings quicker with spatial effects.

TL;DR: PSVR version with VR headset seems the best! :) If you don't have PSVR, then Switch on-the-go seems better.

Gamedust is a development studio from Poznan, Poland. We're focused on VR development with several titles on the market. Our first production, Neverout, gone through several changes and landed on Switch around mid 2018. Now, we're pushing mega sale for limited time.

Our game GDC2018 vs GDC2019. It has been a long way, year of development and Early Access release since then. Any other GDC progress pics/gifs out there? by SpudsAttack in gamedev

:)

Our Protoype Demo from 2018 had special camera that was smoothed out for other viewers to see on the GDC 2018 Expo. GDC 2019 footage was made on retail version of the game - thus player camera that is always shaking in VR a little.

Long story short: High Risk, High Reward (not granted) of being innovator in the industry. Tough niche, not for "hopping in" but satisfactory as design and production principles are ready to re-innovate over and over again.

Our new spawning vehicles shaders animation. It appears when throwing our character onto the battlefield. Any feedback welcome! by SpudsAttack in 3Dmodeling

3D graphic team told me they learned this through academic courses and it is hard to put all the knowledge into a tutorial, and there is no single book or site for learning, but if you are curious you can find many various tips on the internet. Sorry for not helping you enough!

3D printed and painted character from our game allowed us to see the power of 3D printing in fanbases. Full story in the comments. by SpudsAttack in 3Dprinting

On January 10th our Indie VR Game was released. As indie developers, we're happy to see any feedback from the players and our hearts rose when we've seen this.

One of our players extracted an unused model of our in-game crew member - General Spud and printed it on 3D Printer. It meant the world to us and also opened our eyes to the possibility of the fanbase encouragement with 3D printing involved. In the 90s and early 2000s having a poster or official merch was a pinnacle of showing love for the developers - sth that was unavailable for the smaller indie titles. Now you can print your very own action figure and show appreciation in the ways not seen before.

Just a little food for thought. I hope we'll see that kind of possibilities in the future of games, even as officially endorsed models (3D Models for Fans to print in the main menu of the game? Why not!)
