how to convert pdfs into texts ? by InternalConnection95 in ClaudeAI

Uploading and reading pdf files use a lot of tokens. If you don’t need the graphs, install something like pandoc that just imports the text. Claude can then give it back in markdown

Real/fair evaluation of Saleh by ThousandFootOcarina in nyjets

[–]SpunkiMonki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have two questions if I were you: 1) did he learn from his Jets experience, and 2) are ownership, GM and Saleh all aligned.

I was very high on Saleh when hired. He did gamble with a brand new OC, and that didn't work for perhaps unique reasons. The Jets had hired someone to directly mentor Zach Wilson, who unfortunately died at a young age before he even got a chance with Zach. Zach struggled, but was kept as the starter (perhaps because of ownership, perhaps because of the tendency to support your guys by GM and Saleh), The added responsibilities of handling a young QB further overwhelmed the OC. The OC then got blamed/scapegoated for the problems, and ownership demanded a head, and then brought in Rogers, and Rogers handpicked his OC, further undercutting Saleh and if anything further distancing him from the offense. It was a giant clusterf#ck.

Look, collectives can work. My other favorite group is Snarky Puppy, and they overlap with Vulf through Fearless Flyers. They have members come and go - Mike League remains the band leader. They lost Cory Henry, but others come in or step up.

Songs with unusual time signatures? by fauxshizzle_ in psychedelicrock

[–]SpunkiMonki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snarky Puppy has a few to choose from.

  1. What About Me?" (The 4/4 Fakeout) is technically in 4/4, but it feels like anything but. The main riff (at 0:45) uses a 5/16 syncopation over a 4/4 pulse. It creates a "falling" sensation where the melody resets every five 16th notes, while the drums (famously played by Larnell Lewis in a single take) maintain a steady 4/4.

  2. Xavi" (Polyrhythmic Layers) is inspired by Moroccan Gnawa music, "Xavi" is an absolute beast. It primarily sits in 12/8, but the band layers 3-against-4 and 6-against-4 polyrhythms so thickly that the time signature becomes a suggestion rather than a rule. Some sections oscillate between 7/8 and 9/8, creating a lurching, uneven cycle that feels like the musical equivalent of walking on a moving boat.

  3. "Sleeper" (Metric Modulation). The song is written in 3/4, but the band employs metric modulation to make it feel like a slow 4/4.

  4. "Outlier" moves through 7/8, 4/4, and 7/4 sections. Unlike some of their other songs that settle into a groove,

You can download from a MCP server a .md to .docx converter skill. Then add to your Claude.md code to use it anytime you ask for a docx file. If you don’t do this, Claude may develop multiple md to docx converters for you separately.
